    Where are you living.
    Hi Rory,

Why BB latency is very bad in south dublin? My colleague struggles to get good connection with 7.6mb 12:1 Imagine Business Broadband. Do you have any 1:1 service in this area with good result? Or something wrong in their exchange or location? He was on 3mb bb but then upgraded it to 7.6mb just last week with 12 months contract which was using as per a Tech support. Is there any way to cancel it and get Magnet 1:1 without any disruption of service. Please advise. I need to sort it out.

    Thanks in advance.

    What make/model is it? Thanks.

nice speeds but i would really like to see what speeds the WiMax system brings to the table - heres mine - not too bad for three since i switched back to them and it seems to be costant for the most part (2mb to 4 mb speeds usually)

    593061009.png

    Magnet File download results

Download Speed: 4143 kbps (517.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1140 kbps (142.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

This is what I'm getting with Eircom. Roughly a mile from the server. Small bit worried about the pings but this speed generally holds even through peak times. Might occasionly drop to 5.5 for half an hour or so but I can live with that.

    SNR Margin 4 20 dB

Anyone have the number for eircom to ring and complain about this?

on a 1Mb/s line, downloading while testing.. saw posts here and was concerned i was getting ripped off.. actual download speed is usually about 120kb/s

dont know why the ping is so high.. did it to a dublin test from tipperary, im guessing its because i had other stuff running at the time...

anyone have price comparisons of broadbands in ireland at different speeds?

It says on the Eircom Bill, we have Broadband Business Starter @ €40.00 per month ( includes a download speed of up to 7.6mb and an unlimited download allowance)

Anybody know if we are getting what we are paying for? Works out at €48.60 (incl. VAT)

My Dad's company pay for it, as he needs to use it for work purposes himself when home.

isp would still show up since he was connceting to his host through a external ip address - didnt realise that digiweb does internet solutions for consumers. Thought they only did it for Businesses?
