I'm going to go out on a limb here but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that vote was rigged. To me, the final decision on who was going to win this was made by Cowell before this show even aired. There was a concerted effort to get her on the winners podium, from the duet with Beyonce to the fawning praise by Cowell at every given opportunity.
Don't get me wrong, Alex is a good singer but does the world need another Leona mark2? I'd have preferred JLS to win and hope they get a career out of it.

Oh please. If anything, Hallelujah was picked for Diana while she was the favourite, not Alexandra.

well beyonce is a mega star compared to boyzone and westlife, seems a bit unfair one of them got to sing with her, when the other two had has-been boybands

It's just like last year. Leon got freaking Kylie Minogue! The other 2 got Katherine Jenkins and Jason Donavon. At least Boyzone and Westlife are better then those 2...

Why not - he signed up that bro/sis pos from last year.

Alex was the best by a long shot. The only one who might have beaten her was Laura. Both have amazing voices but Alexandra has a much better range vocally and she's a performer. She was able to hold her own with Beyonce. And she did Hallelujah beautifully.

Thats a load of Crap if it was going to be rigged by Cowell Diana would have made the final and won! And Alex was miles ahead the any of the others bar Ruth.

As regards the Jeff Buckley version of Hallelujah its not a patch on John Cale's version, which is the finest version of Cohan's classic song!

Ooh to be honest I feel bad for Alexandra. She was my favourite but it will be so embarrassing for her to watch the show afterwards and see how she kept breaking down at every opportunity. Luckily Beyonce was like a good mummy holding her hand and letting her cry on her shoulder - not an image to cherish though! Ah maybe she does not care after all. Happy she won!
