I saw in some paper today that Charlie will be held at gunpoint by robbers as they found out that his daughter won the Canadian lottery, one of the robbers escorts Charlie's daughter to the ATM while the others stay in the house. The most cash that can be drawn from an ATM in one day is €600 not a great haul considering that she won 220 million dollars.

I wonder will he have his posh accent as he is being robbed? Does he actually realise how silly he sounds switching from northside Dublin to pompous twit:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

That actor who plays Gina's son Sean isn't too bad of an actor, think his name is Ryan Andrews :)

Can we start using spoilers again if we're giving away future story?

I hate knowing what's going to happen.

So do I, but you buy a news paper open a page and they have the whole story of a future episode in pictures.

He is the second actor to play the part so again, lacks credibility.

LOL! You're a real die hard aren't you! I think i disagree with you there. At first its a bit weird and strange seeing someone else play the part, but after a while I just accept them! Like in Home and away, when Pippa left! But the new Pippa was just as good if not better, very credible. Also, in FC, what about Yvonne, she was played by another actress. But Yvonne is one of the best characters. I hate her, but i love her. LOL! Also, the new Dean is a really good actor and way hotter than the old guy! (: .The new Mcaleer seems a lot more powerful than I remember the old guy being.

The Bob/Christy fued is very funny. They remind me of 2 little boys fighting in school!

I agree, Niamhs bro is a very good actor, wasnt he in the clinic too?

Duncan sooooooooo annoying! I wish Paul had given him a kick. HA!

    Noeleen McCoy
    Kay McCoy
    Mags Kelly (after one season)
    Dolores Molloy (after one season)
    Wayne Molloy
Jimmy Doyle (after one or two seasons)
    Yvonne Doyle
    Darren Doyle
    Farrah Phelan (twice!)
    Seamus McAleer
    Ciara Mannion
    Dean Dowling
    Floyd Phelan
    Sean Cassidy
    Rachel Brennan
    Bernie Kelly

That's way too many actor changes. No other soap or programme is like that.

Look at Blanche in Coronation Street. Character introduced in 1974. Original actress commits suicide after two episodes.

Replacement plays the part on and off up until 1978. Comes back briefly for Deirdre and Ken's wedding in 1981. Then vanishes until the late 1990s whereupon she is reintroduced and is still there.

The same actress - Maggie Jones - used since she took the role 35 years ago (despite the long absences).

According to my scientific brother, it's some kind of brain tumor or something like that (details confuse me) that is affecting the speech part of her brain and is slowly killing her.

Mags has motor neuron disease and is leaving the show (from today's Herald).

    http://www.herald.ie/entertainment/around-town/mags-bows-out-of--fair-city-due-to-illness-1596874.html
Fair City star Joan Brosnan Walsh is to leave the soap after 20 years of playing Mags Kelly.
Joan made the decision after being diagnosed with the muscle-wasting condition, motor neurone disease, last year.
The veteran actress, now in her 60s, said: "I loved the character of Mags, foil to Charlie's shenanigans and I particularly enjoyed her strong relationships with, for example Dolores, Rita, Dermot and Jo. I really enjoyed playing her."
Wise, warm and sensitive, Mags is confidante to all in Carrigstown.
Motor neurone disease is a degenerative condition which destroys the cells that control voluntary muscles and affects speaking, walking, breathing, swallowing and general movement.
Joan's Fair City colleagues yesterday gave her a celebratory send-off and praised her role in the show over the years.
Dave Duffy, who plays taxi boss Leo Dowling, said: "Joan was terrific to work with. Some of the best scenes I ever did were with Joan.
"It is like a small community here and it's always sad when someone leaves who was part of it".
He described how Joan had continued working as long as she could. "We gave her a terrific send-off. We had champagne and flowers for her and a bit of a party in McCoy's pub".

So Long Mags Kelly i wonder is Charlie going also ?????

    http://www.rte.ie/tv/faircity/series/series20/9-12.html

So was that the last we'll see of Mags? There was a bit of a lingering moment with Mags and the camera before the credits came up.

I think I'm going to move to Carrigstown

They all seem to own their own businesses or are in very high paid jobs - very few seem to have a regular job - and even Ray and Keith who have got a "regular job" - won money on the lotto.

That Duncan is easily the most annoying person ever on TV. Whats with his accent? Baffling..

On a more positive note the person responisble for naming the cast should be given a comedy award.. 'Zumo Bishop' :pac:

Anyone watch tonights episode - Dolores walks into the house with a Shaws bag saying that was in town...but Shaws is not in town!!! Wonder how much Shaws paid for that???

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,032 ✭✭✭✭tk123

lol we said that too. Also how comes everybody in FC seems to have a non-dub sibling!? Were they separated at birth or something?! Una & her bro, Dermott & Ken etc..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,668 ✭✭✭nlgbbbblth

The 'reintroduction' of Louis Gleeson is stretching things.

Yet another actor change - while they have written a fraud into the story, I'd guess that they couldn't get the original guy back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,032 ✭✭✭✭tk123

Lol I bet there's a cat fight next over Una's bro between the singletons - possibly some branded products will be thrown around :D

This evening I did a little shopping in "Dunnes" and packed my goodies in M&S bags, when there isn't an M&S store within 35 miles of me!! ya think Dolores doesn't re-use bags like the rest of us:confused::confused:

Does anyone know if the woman who is playing Una is pregnant in real life??? Watching her last night it looked like she had a bit of a bump showing. I thought i was imagining it during the wedding scenes 2 weeks ago, but last night it kind of looks it now?
