    I would not ask to half the dinner at all... if he expects that after picking the restaurant etc the bye bye!

    Dinner is different..you wouldnt whip out the calculator or anything, but Id buy drinks afterwards or something.

    Actually I can see your logic. If your expecting to go to eddy rockets and he takes you to some french restaurant where chips cost a hundred euro then let him pay. Feck it, money is meant to be spent and women are meant to moan :D.
