The Wicklow Town force field will ensure it won't, this time anyway.

Looks like a heavy shower is heading into North Wicklow and south Dublin.
It will get trogdor and possibly artictree on it's southern flank.
It will probably be snowing shortly in the sandyford business park/Industrial estate and the bottom end of the M50.

Get a load of the colours in the west by the way, particularally around Limerick!

That shower is just to the south of me - Dublin mountains obscured - a few snow flakes here in the wind but clear overhead. Current temp +3.9c

Snowing in Blanchardstown - Fairly heavey

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,927 ✭✭✭JanuarySnowstor

Well the first trough is passing through the country at the moment. Could be better clearly fading as it crosses land. Let's hope some inland convection kicks off aswell
    All to play for, just!

That band of ppn across the midlands appears to be widening but is becoming less intense?

I bet it slips to the south of me/Dublin!! Sleet and rain now being reported at a couple Met E sites at 10am.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,927 ✭✭✭JanuarySnowstor

It's quickly becoming a damp squib
    Just not cold enough
    Another over ramped event imo
Lucky to see snow lying in mountains not to mind low ground
Widespread snowfall sticking - no chance

The back of that trough has passed here now, and the sun is melting any lying snow big time. Temp rising as well, now 1.3c. Enjoy the shower those in the east, still looks pretty potent as it crosses the country.

Looks like the ppn is heading for Cork:)
Signs of re intensification now as the sun is helping convection
    Any reports from North Cork/Limerick?

The trough line is heading your way
Give it an hour and you should get something

Still blue skies and sunny here - only some high cloud. Unfortunately can't see out to west to see if anything on it's way!
