Just to say congrats to all boardies who got deep in a tough field. Also, wp to my son Derry who unfortunately went out in 28th, money for 26:(.

Congrats also to Poker Events and their team. They get stick on here often enough,so when praise is deserved,it should be given.
The venue was top class, the dinners provided were the best I've experienced at a poker event, the dealers were of a high standard, the structure was excellent as you come to expect(but I think 10,000 chips is a little small for a 2k tourney, stretch to 12k next year maybe), and paying a bit less than 10% of the field left 4 very unhappy people.

Moving the event to Galway was a tremendous success and proved the doubters wrong (ie: that a major tourney wouldnt be a success outside of Dublin). If the game is right, the players will play it.

So to Fintan,Donal and all the PE team, congrats on a job well done!!!

    Connie

Congraulations to TREVOR for doing so well and representing the MACAU SPORTING CLUB.

And well done to jude for taking the title.

Also well done to Fintan and Donal for running a excellent event from all reports.

    I be there next year.

I am just going through this now.
That slowroll is tilting me so much. I lose it if it actually happened to me.

Also, I am not sure what anyone else thought but the standard of play throughout the weekend I thought was awful, worse then any good sized buyin tournament I have been at.

Really nice venue though, much better then citywest imo.

Well done to all involved, and NickyOd & Gary for the live reporting. Nicky, was Gary not there yesterday or did you do the same thing you did on last day at London EPT?

    +1

Too right mate. Any city where you can fly to via Heathrow is fine for any big internation tournament. The hotel was excellent, as was the tournament area and the event itself, and that's coming from someone very cinical, all the people who traveled to Ireland for the event were very impressed and enjoyed their stay.

More international events outside of Dublin please!!

Have to agree with you nicky, great atmosphere in the place, good banter, the outdoor jacuzzi a bit strange, but there you go.

yourself and Gary did a brilliant job, well done. Back to reality check for me, tons of work and heating broken in work brrrrrr...

    thanks for the congrats lads

first really enjoyed this tournie, esp since bubbling it last year - also played alongside TheBlackThing from here, gent of a guy and very good player to boot - so congrats to him aswell

turned up final day with 12 left, had only 40k outa 900k. re-shipped with 66 over jim reids raise, he laid down overs - and then got a few nice hands to gather alot of the chips. had QQ vs AQ with 7 left or so against the German poker team captain, and recent bracelt winner in stud. Himself and Jim Reid were noticeably very capable players and a pleasure to play with, and learn from. lost AK to 66 for 2/3 chips in play with 4 left, only to be the shorty, and a few re-steals in a row and i eventually had enough chips that i could be involved in a deal. Really didnt want to deal, but was madness to play on considering pay jumps - there was talk of doing a deal based on chips which i quickly rejected - but at the end of it all happy with the result.

Was going to write a report - but got lazy, if many requests i may. Thanks to poker events, the radisson was very well run (not so much the eglinton on the thur nie). There certainly was large jumps in class varying from playing 2/5 cash with a young french/canadian who does videos for cardrunner (in french), to playing long periods with Nick Channing, Michael krieger (apoligies if spelt wrong), Jim reid , and alot of very capable players from the west who lurk here (get posting ya lazy fekers (yeh you too danny :) )

Haha Im not telling anyones secrets ;)

I was meaning last time one was close by on last day and the other elsewhere doing the live reporting.. so it looked like only one was there. KSTV or some username like that and they were keeping in touch via mobile, so no gossip! I think it was something like that, depends on close I was listening to what he was telling me!

Maybe Nicky can confirm what I am getting at.
