rag2gar and I are doing the live reporting for pokernews here.

It's on the uk site, not the .com.

Parky just came in to the media room and I didn't recognise him wearing a shirt and tie. "I wanted people know what I'd look like at my funeral" lol!

    [*]from pokernews
    [*]
Ladbrokes poker pro Roy "the boy" Brindley and former EPT Dublin final tablist Joe Rafferty have now joined the action packed table 15 following Nicky Power's elimination. The table also includes Neil "bad beat" Channing, Christy "the mystery" Smith and Ivan Donaghy

Some sick early exits lately Nicky, ul buddy.

I've checked Blonde and searched google, it's a no go!

Only updates I've found are the ones mentioned in this thread:
    http://uk.pokernews.com/live-reporting/party-poker-ipc/main-event/blog/day1/

. . . but to be honest getting more than one inside 20-30 min period is a bonus. Ideally if anyone is reading this and is there on site with internet access, we urgently seek news on all the local players particularly the boardsies :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 427 ✭✭one ill cat

    298 started
    273 remaining

    Average is currently 11k

    Rob now on 21k

Marty Smith got knocked out before the break, all in pre flop with AA v KK. yer man rivered a king. The hand previous he also had AA and let them go after an over the top turn bet on a 3565 board.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 222 ✭✭TheBlackThing

Nickys exit went something like this..
He raised pre flop with 78 suited, 1 caller, flop 78J, he bet, was reraised, shoved, called - yer man had JJ.

Thats roughly the way it went.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,252 ✭✭✭The Al Lad

    Nicky Power/Marty Smyth's elimination details
Just got wind of the details on Nicky Power's elimination. Power raises under the gun to 150 with 7c8c , Mike Sexton makes it 450, Power calls.

    Flop 7h 8s Jh

Power bets 1000, Sexton re-pops to 3500, Power pushes. Sexton calls

Sexton turns over Jd Js for the absolutes. No break for Power on the turn or river and he is OUT

Elsewhere Marty Smyth has been eliminated when his A A was no good for K K following a king on the flop and no saving ace on turn or river.

    Source pokernews

Obv. nicnicnic is a very good player and probably one of the best on boards but why raise UTG with tripe so early in a deepstacked tournament ???

And anyone know if the highlights are on TV

I agree, with the structure of this tourney surely he could have waited on something a lil better that 78 (suited or not) to push with and UTG of all positions!

I read in a previous thread that RTE were running highlight programmes themselves but not for a bit yet.

No he played qualifier earlier but no joy so he bought in anyway.

Not sure I know who Tom Kennedy is.

I spotted a few other Mayo boys but not sure how they're doing - Fergal Cawley, Viv Browne, Aidan Cullinane and a lad called Jarlath from Ballinrobe.

The Story of that slowroll by the Polish chick has me life tilted.:mad:

G'wan BCB you good thing! I'd love to know what he folded getting 3/1 Pre-flop against Mick McCloskey (as reported)

P.S. Keep up the good work Nicky and Gary

I just gave Maud some dinner vouchers and advice on how to play her remaining 4000 chips. Also reassured her that she played her last hand correctly raising a muppet big on the turn with 2 pair but he stayed for a flush draw. I think I'm in there but she's just not my type.

Does anyone else want to be the glass in the picture?

Ha, well it took the pictures of players on the Pokernews site to inform me that the slightly strange English fella that I doubled up through and subsequently knocked out on Weds night in the Eglinton is Jonathon Kalmer, 5th in last years WSOP main event. There are so many 'famous' pros hanging around these days it is impossible to know who is who!

Could anyone onsite keep an eye out for Peter Gannon, young Galway player? He often builds a big stack during the opening section of a tournament, if he does watch out!

We are posting on average every 12 to 15 minutes. We are also taking and posting up player photos, making a list of the chip-counts for the chip leaders as they develop and busting out players.

Unlike you we don't have the benefit of the speed of a text message from a player actually in the tournament. :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,124 ✭✭✭NickyOD

Lads if you want info on a player I don't know please just tell me what he looks like/is wearing or link me to photo. Telling me he likes to build a stack early isn't likely to help me find him. :)

Derek Murray? I suspect he's just below average looking a bit bemused.

Relax Nicky, you guys are doing a good job, the comment wasn't a stab at you, moreso at the other sites that should be also updating to help fill in the blanks.

I'm in Belfast and my street has been snowed in all day so if I come across as bored you can understand why :D
