Thing is this new Flaspoint is made in house by Codemasters who were the publishers for first one.

The team that actually made the first Flashpoint have moved on to the Armed Assault series so in a way it's the true successor.

I hope the new Ghost Recon goes back to first person, its not the same for me in third person at least the PC got a true first person GRAW while the consoles got the main stream dumbed down version. At least make it like the newer Rainbow Six games with third person cover if they have to.

I miss the old Rainbow Six days of Rouge Spear and Raven Shield which was the last true Rainbow Six game IMO.

far as i can remember, (and its been quite a while since i played it) GRAW 1 and 2 you could select what view you wanted?

i loved the originals but i still think the 3rd person works very well. :)

You could change views alright in the console versions of GRAW 1 and 2 but all you are left with is a crosshair on the screen. I like being able to look at the gun in my hands and using the iron sights or optics which you could do on the PC GRAW.

    ah, right you are actually,

Now you have me wanting to play GRAW. lol

I play fallout 3 obsessivly, thats about it for me.

I'd be a bit like dex, I never played xbox online bar the 1-2 months you got free when you bought the console, bad line connection and the yoofs playing halo and powning me got very tiring.

The feckers would be yammering away, yeah dude I was gonna get the new map pack, gonna hang out later on blah blah, not even paying attention and they'd be feckin riddling me, bah.

Four player goldeneye64, with lower life settings for realism, was where it was at.

The secret to surviving xbox live without tearing out all your hair is to party up with people you know, who aren't total retards and just switch yourselves to party chat rather than game chat, then you don't have to listen to the 6 year old brain damaged americans and you can have a buzz amongst yourselves. It's great for working out tactics and playing as a team too.

I know it was raised briefly a few weeks back (but I dont think it went anywhere), but a bunch of us should arrange for a COD-fest some night.

I'm not a Xbox-live junkie, by any means - but I've been obsessively playing COD:WaW the last week or so when the kids are in bed and the missus takes her eyes off me for more than 20 minutes. I have COD:MW too, although I've never played it online. I'll root that out and give it a go this weekend.

The only thing that annoys me about it is, as Sam says, the bloody American kids rabbiting on and on and on - I'd love for a gang of us who know each other to setup a private series of matches. I'd say we'd have a fair bit of craic.

Yeah, I'd be one for that, its been a while since I played CoD MW online. Its one of the few games where I don't get any lag playing online.

Anyone else find it hilarious that DARPA want a four-legged walker platform tested on snow and ice?
In related news, the USAF took delivery of the first experimental vertical wing aircraft, the T13 Fighter...

The legs on that thing remind me of those hunter walking robot things in Metal Gear Solid 4 they have a very similar design although on a much smaller scale.
