This is the poker forum HJ - not after hours

As I recall the whole point of this tourney was to give players the "experience" of WSOP for an affordable buy-in. The pay out was mooted in the beginning and my recollection was a WSOP structured pay-out was agreed. Paying 5% of the field or 40 people runs contrary to the spirit of the tourney.

(I reserve the right to change my mind when there are 40 left if I am still in :D )

Inclined to agree here...... like the WSOP people will like to say that they cashed in the IPO... you hear people say it all the time about the WS... I cashed in the WS..... that fact that they still lost money is irrellevent...

Everyone coming back day 2 should get dough I think
    Just my 2p worth...

Registration will close BEFORE SET OUT TIME

We can not take 1200 players since dealers are bailing out on us.

We tried our very best, now we need to give those who are in a good event.

This is not an easy decision to take but we need to make sure that those in get a proper tourney.

Just pay them at the registration desk tomorrow. There will be a queue of people wanting to pay that way, so just join the queue.

I hate having to queue up to pay, I wish it was possible to pay entry fees online in advance, would save a lot of time on the day.

Ok i know u've said that if you cash - the money will be in you mermaid account by wednesday 10th - but for ppl who use the "cash" method - they will then have to wait for a cheque - how long will it take for that...

Someone should run a tournament like this. I bet people would complain, but it would work really well in the end.

Are you taking the piss or are you serious?

And i am asking seriously, beliave me :)

    WHO are paying in cash?

Lets say just for the craic of it eg,, that for an example a person DO pay cash, TRUST ME on this dar´lings, the person would STILL have the money he/she wins to be placed into his/hers Mermaid account, and they can NOT be withdrawn until the person has made a succesfull deposit with any of the several methods we got to deposit.

And guys you know what its not my rules, its not even Stephen Macleans rule, and nope, neither is it the Clamper<even though it sounds a bit like him :p its actually the law, law about money laundry that says this. So dont fight windmills you cant win, pick your fights ;)

    Next?

I think you misunderstood his question.

I think he was using "cash" to imply that he won't be using any of the money online and will withdraw it as soon as possible, and he was wondering how long a cheque would take to be issued.

I would like to know the answer to this as well.

pttttp ...take of your rose tinted glasses...if someone were to organise such a Tournament it would get 11 runners.

The only way to do this is to have a big box and have everyone drop their Buy-in into it as they enter the venue...kinds like a collection at mass.

I heard an interesting rumour. The guy who won the IPO actually bought in at the last minute on the day as he was a Friend/Cousin/Sister/Clone/Any two of the previous of Stephen.

A credible guy I know heard this from a girl who read it on the Boards( maybe i should have saved this for tomorrows frivilous I am bored at work post...na):D

took me about 7 days to withdraw from mermaid before, but that was going through moneybookers and then from there to my account, not sure about cheques.
