I assume so because the LP centre is swinging just East of Northern Ireland as we speak. That will shift the wind direction. That Blob must represent the trough. If it is it has a chance of making the East coast.
Well if thats the case it should become a more wnw soon depending on the track of the LP

My wind is a fairly solid westsouthwest to south west at 10 to 12mph but with a gust to 27 a half hour ago

Hold on, im getting confused. I dont know what way its going now and it seems to be in decline anyway.

Knock has rain, as I suspected its the DAM thickness. There is a hole and unfortunately it does not cross over until after 6am:

No, its still there. It's the radar, its doing this every second hour. Check out the UKMO radar and you will see what I mean. :)

Well its not as intense as it was green yellow to blue indicating losss in intensity.
Are you saying the doppler is on the blink every second hour.

Yes, its been like that for months. Click on the hour, then the half hour, then the hour on the UKMO radar and you will see yourself, you cant miss it:rolleyes:

I can see what DM is saying, that large blob appears to appear.....disapear....then reapear, have to wait for the next update to see whether it reappears though , does appear to have weakened though the times it did show it.

It probrably has weakened significantly. The problem on the half hour though it is difficult to get a track. They should sort that out.

Yeah but look at the speed.
    2.9km is practically calm.
It might not be indicative of a real change to NW

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,504 ✭✭✭SpitfireIV

    The blob has returned.....somewhat

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

Ah now i see.Forget half hour and concentrate on top hour.
Blobby has merged into a big mess out west.

    Temp 3.5c
    dp 1c

Mind you yeah dungarvan is a real NW at 10kmph

I see the NRA station on the Arklow by pass is reporting calm conditions.
Thats in a dip where the road is dug out so it is quite sheltered.
I'm only a half mile from there and the wind here though is mostly 10 to 12mph,it has calmed down a lot and was only 5mph a short time ago-explaining the temp drop.

Ah yes-now would be a good time for the wind to turn northwest :D

There where the only two saying NW and near the south coast which could be right for change if LP is moving across NI and eastwards.
I see the speed alright, probably nothing come of it yet.
