just curious to know did any female players make it on to any county team?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,533 ✭✭✭ollyk1

Yes. The female of the species is as well represented as they are in the poker world generally.

I believe there are two female players on the Mayo team. I know Willow is on the Wexford team. I'd doubt any known female poker player would be refused a spot on some team.

Generally at bigger buyin events it seems that ~5% of the fields are female and I doubt this event will be any different. Lower buyin events would have a slightly higher female proportion of players.

    Irish poker cup-team event

    .
The idea being it is a total team event with the best team coming out on top and any resonable tactics are allowed.

Every member must wear their own county colours. No branding allowed. Pokerevents will supply all the team shirts.

    Fintan Gavin.

I think resonable tactics should defined.I know it will be some time before team members will end up on the same table but what are the rules regarding collusion here.Ever played 45( or 31 down here ) partners. winks, nods ,hand up in the air shouting i have a good hand.(well maybe not the last1).

Are we to wear the same shirt for 3 days or will donal do the laundry(as is the TDs job imo)

No two players from the same team will be on a table together untill the numbers of players from the same side is greater than the number of tables in play.
We cant see this happening untill we are down to about 4 / 5 tables. At this stage there will be a director assigned to the the particular table(s) where there are two players from the same team.
The rule concerning collusion is quite clear. Players from the same team are entitled to play any way they wish which includes soft play and even chip dumping if they are foolish enough to do so. However it will be a offence for any speech play and / or signalling in any way to each other. This will result in the sin bin rule for either 10, 15 or 20mins pending on how serious the director interpets the offence. Worse case senario will be disquaification if a player has done a strech in the bin and then re-offends.
The advantage players from the same team will have at a table will be minimal if any at all, as it is quite open and clear they are playing together and tactics will be obvious to all other players.

There will be extra shirts supplied to each team for the players who progress.
