Buy off tower. Anything over E100 euro you will get charged in customs but it will still end up being cheaper. Is it the revo 3.3, if so you won,t need a battery charger for the 6 cell battery, theres one included.

    Maybe
However .... When something goes wrong :
Thinks: "What? A model car break - never! Not to me! No way!

Distance from backup - 2000 miles (= the other side of Planet Earth :p )
The tiniest minor query for advice - international tel call / hours typing emails to and fro.

These factors have a money value which should also be taken into account. ;)

it would be something similar tho if i bought from modelsport it is hardly around the corner:rolleyes: .
thanks for the info guys. getting the 3.3 from america actually sort of works out cheaper than the 2.5 from england

Postage = zero if you can get there ! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

    :D

What is an RTR 3.0 ??

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

    he probably means 3.3

so what would you do vectra. chance buying from US or just get 2.5 of modelsport

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 3,455 Mod ✭✭✭✭coolwings

    RTR = ready to run
In other words, radio, receiver and servos included and pre-fitted in the model
    3.0 = 3.0cc engine
actually I rounded it down , the engines are 3.5cc to be exact

what make are these models they are not revos or savages i dont think

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 3,455 Mod ✭✭✭✭coolwings

Nope - not a US make - US makes are naturally expensive makes to buy if you are outside the US.
China - to - US - Ireland = a very long supply chain. Three continents involved.

Well, 3.3 is the way to go ... But.. It is your cash :D

    Me?
Well.. I think I would go for the 3.3 from the States... but.. I would watch out for one from Ebay as well.. ;)
£313 RTR Revo 2.5 in the UK

£399 for Revo 3.3 Pre order in the UK

I was tempted to buy one of these before I got the Revo

I'd get 3.5 from Dublin at under 400 EUR and put the other unused 60 to 100 EUR in my pocket to bring home with the model. :-)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

thanks guys but i am probably even more confused than before

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,763 ✭✭✭g5hn710m4xpdwy

theres somehting that tells me that you will be disapointed in it :D , but if you get the revo, you wont ;-)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

what makes you say that and which one do you think i should go for?:)

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 3,455 Mod ✭✭✭✭coolwings

    A new model
Like a Stormracer II but bigger size - bigger engine
    3.5cc
    Won't be disappointed - I know that
Parts cheaper than many other makes - available in Ireland
Buggy design so it should be much faster than a truck
Possibly lower ground clearance than a truck I guess but not measured. Maybe not.
    1:8 size
Green Hobby & Model, hobbyshop in Dublin
    www.greenhobbymodel.com
not on their website (you got that from the webmaster ! )
    No link
    No marketing
    No video
    New in Ireland.
Out being tested at the moment and looking extremely good so far.
    Marketing stuff later.
Well known make (if that is important to you)
Deffo not a Revo, this price won't pay for the Revo style of marketing blitz :-)
Testing will continue tomorrow with plenty abuse being dished out!
