    Follow the guide
No full throttle for a few tanks
no second gear until tank 2 or 3 I cannot remember
    ""FIT THE FAILSAFE FIRST""...!!!!

    enjoy it :D

    Don't crash it:D

Yeah Like Vectra said, no matter how tempting is feels don't open up the engine for a few tanks at least. There's a great tutorial on coolwings site for model engine tuning

Best of luck with it mate

Just go by the manual....they know best;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

first tank ran through it. every thing went well. its very tempting to open it up though and i went about 1/2 throttle at times when it says to go 1/4
just leaving it to cool for 15 minutes:D

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

Don't open it up cause theres a good chance you'll snap the conrod:eek:

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

another couple of tanks of fuel gone through
i will have to move to a bigger area to be able to hold it full throttle for 2 seconds though
everything is going ok and there is a nice stream of blue smoke from it

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,248 ✭✭✭Plug

    Sounds good;)

I wouldnt be too pushed about getting it on full throttle for 2 seconds..
I would be more inclined to "overkill" on the lower throttle stage ;)

    In other words
an extra couple of tanks on low throttle will do it no harm whatsoever but would be of some benefit towards running it in 100%.. ;)

Just do the first three tanks easy and then give the last two a bit of holley;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,515 ✭✭✭✭vectra

    Well?
How is the Proccess going for you?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,149 ✭✭✭BFassassin

going well for me vectra. i never got running it all yesterday with working all day:eek: i ran it for a while tuesday evening and it was cutting out on me for a while and the cooling head felt very hot it this to do with the tuning

Was there smoke coming from the cooling heag if so you wany to richen the high speed needle. I is normal for the engine to be running very warm once there is no smke coming from the head.
Did you tune it yet? If you think you made a balls of the tuning just set it back to factory settings. Highspeed 4 turns out. Low speed is flush with the end of the slide and the idle speed has to be opening the slide 1-2mm.
The fuel your using is better when slightly rich but not too much. Also the cutting out is possibly due to a glow plug problem. Just get a few more and stick with the same plug because if you change around different plugs you will effect the tuning.
