MySQL reported this error while trying to retreive the info: MySQL server has gone away

On the index page moments ago, refresh fixed it though.

I was getting really bad load times but it seems grand now.

Had a couple of timed out pages too. Seems fine now though.

    Edit: spoke too soon.
This post took a while to go through. :)

Had my first error today since the node issue...

Additionally, the whole site is as slow as God's horse today. I'm talking two years ago levels of sluggishness.

Aye, got a DB error when trying to access feedback. It's slow for me as well, but the 'page generated' bit is all under 1 second. The entire page to load just takes awhile.

Site navigation is very slow today (since last night as well). Random datastore errors all over.

Trying to delete a few moments ago, got a datastore message.

Got this a few times today.
    No settings file
No settings.php file was found. Please copy the file ./sites/default/default.settings.php to ./sites/default/settings.php and make it world writeable. Alternatively you can copy the file to a location according to the multi-site configuration instructions.
After that reload this page to continue installation.

Just got one trying to access the Dublin Picture Thread in the Dublin City Forum there.

Dog slow for me this evening.

Top menu loads, and the boards logo, and then it hangs for what seems like an age (in reality a couple of minutes).

It seems that boards both UK and US are no longer immune to the vagaries this site experiences either.

Adverts OTOH seems to be OK.

I'm having the same problem as roundymooney. Boards.tv is the taking ages to load as well. The status bar says 'waiting for ads.boards.ie' for ages and also 'waiting for googleanalytics' as I think. Also if you go here http://boards.ie/vbulletin/subbed.php there is no problem whatsoever.

Changing theme to mobile sorts it. :)

    Ah, so it does.

    So minimalist...

There's no quote button as well except on you own posts. You can't reply to pms either. :( If you subscribe to forums and threads check the link I posted above, 'tis very handy when using this theme. :)

    Thanks AC.

    Now bookmarked.

We may be using this for five minutes, five hours or five days, who knows?

    ;)

I find that it's hanging on static too.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,059 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

I think ecksor posted it up in a feedback thread related to search a while ago. It's really handy for finding threads you posted in but are in forums you never go near.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,910 ✭✭✭✭RoundyMooney

    "static.boards.ie"?

    It was indeed, and "ads.boards.ie".

I also got an infrequent "waiting for boards.ie" message (FF)

This is like Usenet all over again. ;)

(smileys don't work here either, or maybe they're just not visible).

Slowness might be something to do with announcement (upgrade today).
