    Laptop:
    Dell XPS M170
17" widescreen display / NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 GTX card
    2.26ghz Intel 7 Series (Pentium M)
    2GB RAM 791mhz
    50GB HDD
    OS: Ubuntu

    Problems:
    • Can't get wireless working; might require a USB one instead.
    • Keyboard replaced as keys were missing, but it's a foreign one with stickers on some keys to make it look like a standard QWERTY one. It's well done though, it's hard to tell.
    • Power adapter was replaced twice as I was getting errors on start-up. New one working fine so far; so it doesn't seem like a problem with the laptop itself.

thanks in advance for any suggestions

Decent case so that's good, outdated CPU and Socket though, decent RAM, awful graphics card, I've no knowledge on the sound card and the tuner card so i'll leave that out, decent HDD, Blu-Ray so that's good.

Realistically you're looking for around €250
It's a 3 year old machine and it's possible to build a much faster PC for only 350 though so keep that in mind

There is always someone out there to buy this type of kit. Don't expect any return on money spent on License's. If you were looking to move the complete unit on in a hurry 1000 -1500 will see the back of it. If you are selling it and I cannot stress this enough make sure you run some form of Data Destruct software across the harddrives. As for places to list it why not try adverts.ie, gumtree.ie both are free and you should get interest.

Has abit of selling value as the old xps has that distinct design that won many fans. However the Nvidia gpu problem is a major flaw, particularly in this system with its relatively poor cooling and soldered gpu (as opposed to the mxm II replacabable gpu slot in the acer 5920g for example).

    Id go with 350-400
