How much is my computer worth?

  • Based on current system selling prices on adverts and the age, I'd say about 400, maybe a bit less or a bit more depending.

Thanks, might keep the 970 for my next system then, how much do you reckon I'd get if I sell it with a basic GPU? like a spare GTS 250 I have here, cheapest S30s on ebay with the same cpu and ram (with basic gpu) are going for €300, I have a feeling that's a bit too high

  • It is, you might get more if you sell on Ebay but that's such a titanic pain in the ass, no idea how people can bring themselves to do it.

I don't think much to be honest, these days you can pick up i7-4770/i7-3770 based machines for as little as €200 with 8GB 1600mhz ram and an SSD in them on Ebay or Adverts.

I know it's still a very capable processor but it's old and 1333mhz ram is very old school as well. Without the GPU I doubt you'd get more than about €200-250 for it on Adverts or whatever, and GTX970's sell for €100-120 now 2nd hand as well.

Combined, as it's a decent games machine, it'll get more than selling the PC + card seperately most likely. I'd probably stick it up for €500 and see what happens, and be willing to accept around €400 as a reasonable offer.

That's okay then, going to hold on to the 970 and carry it over to the new pc because honestly it does everything I need in terms of gaming and I'm only really looking to upgrade to get something with better single threaded performance. When I'm ready I'll stick up the S30 with the 250 gts in instead for €250 and see what offers I get. cheers for the help.

  • How much would this system be worth

    CPU – Intel Core I7 4770 clocked @3.40GHz, LGA 1150, 4 core 8 tread
GPU – EVGA Geforce GTX 960
    Motherboard – Asus H-81 GAMER
    Ram – 8 GB DDR3 @ 799.2 MHz
    SSD – Samsung 850 EVO 256GB
HDD - Seagate BarraCuda 500GB Laptop 2.5 Hard Drive
Case – CORSAIR CARBIDE SERIES SPEC-01 RED LED MID-TOWER GAMING CASE
PSU - Corsair CX500 Builder Series 500W Power Supply 80 Plus

  • Decent core machine but really let down by the now weak low-end GPU, so I doubt you'd get more than about 400 for it....bit more on the likes of DoneDeal where people know less about PC's. If the person selling is upgrading, it'd be way more economical to just get a new GPU and sell the GTX960 for €80 as the i7-4770 is still an excellent gaming CPU.

  • I no longer need a gaming laptop I've had for the past 4 years that spent all of it's time on a desk with little use so I'm looking to sell it.

Would anybody know how much a like new Acer Aspire VN7-591G with these specs is worth:

    CPU: 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-4720HQ (quad-core, 6MB cache)
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M with 2GB GDDR5 RAM and Intel HD Graphics 4600
    RAM: 16GB DDR3L
    Screen: 15.6-inch, 1,920 x 1,080 IPS
Storage: 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD (5,400 RPM)
Ports: 3 x USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Headphone jack, Ethernet, SD Card reader
Connectivity: Dual Wireless Antennas, 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
    Camera: 720p webcam

  • Guess you have price a new gaming laptop 800~1200 then work back a couple of years. 600 ish maybe.

  • I think given current market prices you'd probably be looking at around 400-450 at best.

    I've an Alienware laptop with a 6700HQ and GTX980 with 16GB DDR4 and a 4K screen and I couldn't get any offers over 550.

You could get a new laptop that would be faster than your spec for about €750.

Thanks a mil. Those are inline with what I was thinking. I'll see how things go.

  • Got a new desktop PC just before Xmas & I am now looking to sell my Alienware laptop.

Would anyone know how much I could realistically get for it? (on Adverts or whatever)

    Alienware 18

    Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 @ 5GHz + Bluetooth 4.0

    Dual AMD Radeon(TM) R9 M290X graphics with 8GB total (2x 4GB ) GDDR5 - AMD CrossFire(TM) Enabled

    256GB mSATA SSD Boot + 1TB 5400RPM SATA 6Gb/s

    16GB Dual Channel DDR3L 1600MH z (4x4GB)

    18.4 inch (467.36mm) WLED FHD (1920 X 1080) TrueLife Display

    4th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4 710MQ processor (6MB Cache, up to 3.5GHz w/ Turbo Boost)

Only thing wrong with it is battery only holds a charge for about 20-30 mins before you'd need to plug in charger.

  • Hi everyone

Looking to sell my existing PC (built 2015) and then upgrade to something better.

I have no idea how much it's worth so would be great to get some advice from the people here. Specifications down below.

    Thanks!
    • Intel Core i5 4690K Processor (3.5 GHz, 6 MB Cache, LGA1150 Socket)
    • Cooler Master RR-212E-16PK-R1 Hyper 212 Evo "Ultra High Performance, 4 Direct Contact Heat Pipes, Universal CPU Cooler" Black Fan
    • MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard (1x DDR3, 6x USB3.0, 8x USB2.0, GBE, LAN, HDMI, DVI, VGA)
    • MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 Gaming Twin Frozr HDMI DVI-I DP Graphics Card (4GB, PCI Express, DDR5, 256 Bit)
    • Corsair CC-9011052-WW Carbide Series SPEC-03 Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case with Red LED Fan - Black
    • HyperX FURY Series (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1866 MHz CL10 DIMM Memory Module Kit - Red
    • EVGA 500W PC Power Supply
    • Samsung 2.5-Inch 250 GB 850 EVO Solid State Drive
    • Razer DeathAdder Ergonomic Gaming Mouse
    • Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2016 - UK
    • No monitor included
    • Windows 10 included

  • Hey folks, building a new PC.

Wondering on the price for the following.

    Case: NZXT Source 340
    Mobo: Asus Z97-A
    CPU: core i5 4690k
    Cooler: Hydro H75
    Ram: 32GB ddr3 4 x 8GB HyperX Fury1866
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 gaming edition
    PSU: Corsair CS 750M

    2 x 120GB SSD (hyperX)
    1 x 250GB SSD (HyperX)
    2 x 2tb HDD (Toshiba)

  • There are a few things in that that won't add much value to the overall price.

I would strip out most of the RAM, one 2TB HDD, 250GB SSD and a 120GB SSD, and sell it with a single 120GB + 2TB. Leave it at either 8GB or 16GB ram at best.

I would also probably take out the CPU cooler and re-use it, replace it with stock cooler.

Not necessarily to re-use, but you can sell all those parts seperately for a nice bit of extra cash.

The different in achievable price between as it is now, and with all that stuff removed, wouldn't be that big, people focus on the core components and other stuff tends to matter little to them, and they value it that way too.

With all said parts removed, I would say you should get around 500 for it. Probably another 200 for the parts I mentioned.

    18.4 inch (467.36mm) WLED FHD (1920 X 1080) TrueLife Display

Obviously with a 4th gen i7 and the 290x cards you can't compete with newer machines but I reckon that has to be worth €600 anyway if not more.

I sold this a few months back

  • Just put together another PC with some bits I had laying around, hoping for a quick sale because I just want these components gone as there taking up valuable space so hoping to get a a recommended price to post it at to grab people's attention:

    AMD Phenom II x4 905e @ 2.5GHz
    8GB DDR3 @ 1333MHz (4x2GB)
    1GB Radeon HD 5770
    Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 AM3+ Mobo
    500GB Hard Drive

I know it won't be worth much but I'd be happy to get anything for it really.

    16gb ddr3 ram
    as rock z68 pro3 gen3
    xfx pro 650w

  • Thinking of selling my setup as a laptop would suit me better,

Any ideas on what it's worth I only built it a few months ago

Corsair Carbide Series 275R Mid-Tower ATX Gaming Case - Black non tempard glass

MSI B450 GAMING PLUS Socket AM4 ATX Motherboard for AMD

AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler

    G.Skill AEGIS F4 3000C16D-16GISB Memoria 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB)

Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT 8G

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G1+, 80 Plus Gold 650W, Fully Modular, FDB Fan,

Samsung MZ-V7S250BW 970 EVO Plus 250 GB Solid State Drive

All parts add up to about 1100 on amazon where I bought them so wondering what be a fair price to ask?

  • So I'm upgrading sons pc and have the following for sale but no idea how to pitch it, any pointers appreciated.

    1. Zalman z11 full sized case with accompanying fans, 2 large and 3 small i think.

2 asus z170 pro gaming itx board,

3 intel i3 6100, using an i5 6500 cooler and fan, or if better sell it with i5 instead. (might use the i5 elsewhere)

    4 corsair cx 550w psu

5 rx 460 gpu, not sure on full details.

In good cosmetic condition, can deliver in mayo for free if that helps (it a big case so delivery is picey i'm guessing)

    Thanks in advance.

  • How much could I sell:
    1. i5 6400
    2. Pentium G4560 with B250 board

  • This lad is surely dreaming?

    200 at best IMO

    http://www.adverts.ie/22516133

  • Ok - unusual one...

Sun Workstation Ultra 25, AMD Opteron Single Core 148 (link)

all original I believe - except no hdd.

Originally ran a specialised OS - but it tried Windows 7 and it worked.

Only asking because I really like the all aluminium case and its in great nick - and Im hoping it something not collectable so I dont feel guilty putting a modern pc in the case...
