How do you know it's free delivery to Ireland? Only says free delivery to UK on website unless I'm missing it

Hi Pie, I ordered mine from MX2 on a Thursday evening and I got it the following Tuesday. It was delivered by courier as Stem already mentioned.

Ok, they've removed their FAQ recently which included good old Eire in the free post clause.
It doesn't mention anything aobut international costs but I would hope it's still free. You have to phone the +4487 number to order for outside of the UK anyway so they'd tell you when you ring

Just out of curiosity, how did you break it???

    Thanks for the posts !

We would like to answer some of the questions you have raised so far.

Firstly we are MP3 specialists. We only sell MP3 players ( oh and one DVD player ), and have done for 3 years.

All of our in house support staff have used all of the players we sell.

We make sure that the team have used the players with PC's ( and MACS ), seen the faults for themselves and implemented the solutions ( where available ). We are not box shifters like some other retailers. We also write our own support documents.

Our delivery used to be worldwide. This has now been stopped.

In order to receive your item from MillerPC you need to have a UK postcode. This is due to the fraud checks we have started using. If you are in N.Ireland then you can order online ( or UK ). If not we can only accept your order via cheque.

There are some nasty people in the world who spend their days using other people's plastic cards for their own gains. These people have spoilt it for everyone 0 and this is the reason we have withdrawn the non-UK delivery. ( sorry )

We use Royal Mail Special Delivery ( next day pre-12 ). Before any one starts moaning about them please consider this :

“ last year we sent over 14,000 packages with Royal Mail. Of them they lost – damaged – late delivered ………….. 12 !”

We do include the official iRiver Car kit ( made by iRiver ). This includes the tape adapter ( for use with a tape deck in your car ) and the charger which connects to a cigarette lighter. We do also sell these separately.

It’s also worth noting that you guys are all shopping on price alone ( a couple of quid cheaper here or there ). Please remember that you cant put a price on service, especially “ after sales support “. Many other companies sell such a wide range of products that they just cant give quality support on everything.

If any one would be interested in doing a site review of www.millerpc.co.uk please let me know. Yes there is both cash and MP3 players up for grabs )

so do you deliver to ireland or not then?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,031 ✭✭✭buddy

I think the jist is that you must have aq NI or UK address.

e.g. Send it to a mate, have them send it to you.

    A bit messy.

I feel its cheeky to ask members of a predominantly Irish site (maybe they don't know that) to review their site when we can't use it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭PiE

    Still nothing.

Well pox on that, they said it'd be here this week. Now I won't have it till Tuesday at least what with the Bank Holiday and all.

    A POX I SAY.

At least you might have your's on Tuesday. I've just moved house today so I put my parent's address as the delivery address. Even if it arrives on Tuesday I won't get a chance to visit them until next weekend :(

MMMMMMust be a mistake, but it's there in writing.

Oh dear, have you tried phoning them? They were nothing but helpful when I got mine from them.

There's an outside the problem lies with the courier I suppose, the hassle I've had from some of those halfwits over the past couple of years is astonishing.

Today's the 7th working day since I ordered and they emailed yesterday saying "7-10 working days!" (in the same email as she asked for my order number so she could check it's status, and then never got back to me. Nice.) So I'll wait the 10 days before getting stroppy I guess.

right just cancelled my 20gb Ipod and ordered a 40gb I-river off amazon, just saved so much money for a lot more hardware.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,031 ✭✭✭buddy

I got mine pretty quick, guess I was lucky. It'll be worth the wait!

I got an e-mail from MX2 telling me that they cancelled my order as there was some sort of problem with either my address or the 3 digit number on my credit card. No idea what I could have done wrong as I double checked everything I entered. Re-ordered last night, so here's hoping...

Click for info on iSkin for IHP:)

  • Registered Users, Subscribers Posts: 47,284 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

You getting some of them shipped over Cormie?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭Selik

I got myself a Charcoal colour Iskin from www.iskin.com and they are savage indeed. Got my eye on the bright blue one next! :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,835 ✭✭✭✭cormie

No, I'm just getting the one for myself. The "ebony" type. I was going to get a few and sell them on but that was from iSkin direct because it's a rip off to just get 1 (shipping is €15!! and customs could get you also) so that place is much better value:) just have to wait till he gets them in stock now!

You'll probably get the re-ordered one before I get mine.

    10 working days now.

    Edit:

This is fantastic. Parcelforce say they handed it over to the "overseas postal authority" on the 20th. 9 days ago. An Post say they have never had it.

I've no idea what to do, but I won't be ordering from them ever again whether it's their fault or not. I've never had this sort of trouble ordering online before.

Am thinking of getting myself an iRiver after all the good reviews here (although probably won't order from MX). I wonder could someone answer two simple questions for me:

Any comments on the software? What does it and doesn't it do?

The headphones - I presume they're similar to the iPod in-ear things. Can I plug in a different type of headphones and still use the remote?

Not sure about the software as I've never used it. I just drag/drop full albums as folders through Windows Explorer.

Yes you can use your own headphones with the remote. The place the headphones plug into the remote will not take L shaped headphone jacks directly but you get a small 2 inch extension cable that connects the remote to your L shaped jack.

Yeh, just drag and drop. That way you don't have to worry about what PC you connect it to.

As above, you can use your own headphones with the remote. So far I'm not pushed on using the remote but it is a nice addition.
