    Thankyou :)

Bar tape will have to be changed anyway due to the c*ck up with the brake there. I attempted it but some things are best left to the hunter/gatherers of the species.

ROK_ON, you're more than welcome to come down to the track and try it out for something a bit different some evening.

What sort of brake is that, not a proper drop lever anyway.

If you want to go halves on a pair of drop levers I may be interested.

You will find it handier as well with pedals.

Thanks but I'm* just going to move that brake up to the top and re-bartape it.

    Lads....apologies. :o
I've just checked back on my ebay a/c and the actual total was E280 PLUS delivery.
    Sorry...I feel a right plonker now :o
The frame was E210, fork was E40, seatpost was E10, headset was E20.
    Delivery was E65
Making a grand total of E345 incl delivery.
Not quite as cheap as I thought but still a very good result in the end.
Didn't get a chance to weigh the frame before building it up as my digital scales is on the blink.
I'll try and weigh the completed bike and see what she comes in at.
Again, sorry all round about the incorrect total :(

Any idea how long your stuff took to arrive after shipping?

    Hi all,
This is my new baby, I bought it in France in a shop owed by Pascal Chanteur, that's why his name is on the frame. He is a former pro, he rode for: AG2R - Festina - Casino. He also rode the Tour de France when it stated from Eniscorthy. Really great guy to deal with.
Frame is Dedacciai - groupset is Campagnolo Centaur - Wheels are Khamsin G3.
The bottle cage are fibre glass cost me just 7 euros each.
I just changed the saddle today from a basic Prologo arse breaker to a comfy Selle Italia for my delicate French butt. :)
A fantastic bike to ride, so far having fun around Kildare. I'm dying to try it around wicklow.
    Fred
Sorry it's my real name

Frame is a dolan mythos with a custom paint job from DMC sports, Group set is a mix with shimano 105 derailleurs, ultegra cassette and chain, R700 short reach levers, 105 brakes and FSA compact carbon crank, PZ racing stem and seat post and Ritchey stream bar with askium wheels.

very light bike must weigh it but its well under 8kg

    Hey all.

Thought Id post a few pics of my new road bike -

Frame is an unbranded carbon ISP frame from hing fu bikes (china), fork is really similar to a 3t funda fork...

    http://picasaweb.google.com/somers.niall/NewRoad#5451259084962675970

The wheels are gigantex clincher rims built on novatec hubs...Chainset is SRAM force, rest of it is a mix of dura ace and ultegra 6600...

No decals as of yet - will probably keep it all black and stealthy...Im not sure how to embed the pics in the post

WOW stealth bike! Any idea of weight? What saddle is on it?

  • Registered Users Posts: 481 ✭✭trinewbie

Stealth bike indeed (to keep me off the radar when I get spat out the back of the bunch...:p)

Weight before pedals was 7.3kg I think...

The saddle is just carbon with titanium rails, bout from an independent carbon manufacturer in the US , bought it last year (via ebay), its weight 100 grams IIRC...It may look rough but its surprisingly comfy, the shape is suits me perfectly..

I've been riding an all carbon SLR for the past few months and it's surprisingly comfortable, no different from my previous SLR that had a layer of gel padding. I think the shape of the saddle actually matters much more than the cushiness.

Absolutely agree, a saddle is a real personal thing, the right shape is definitely the most important thing about a saddle....Only thing is a lot of damage could by done with that saddle in a crash scenario -:eek:

Yea interesting, might look into getting one when I eventually upgrade.

How do you find the novatech hubs? Waiting on a set myself now

I havnt ridden the new wheelset that much but first impressions are good.

The novatec hubs are the exact same as the hubs on my Planet X 101/82 wheelset on the TT bike, obviously PX just rebrand the hubs (as with most all of their componants/frames etc).

They're not exactly the lightest but they are fairly bomb proof and they roll really really smooth...
