Hi, no news until tomorrow - even still I would only be 8 weeks pregnant then if my baby is still alive. I went through the whole people not telling me if my baby would be OK before - it was horrible.

Cathy I cannot imagine what you are going through and I am thinking of you - its a horrible situation and the waiting game must be unbearable

They did but at 6 and a bit weeks it is not always possible to see the heartbeat - I am behind on my dates but that is normal for me.

Cathy, my thoughts are with you.

Congrats to all the very excited positives!

Went to visit my sister and her 6 month old baby for the last week. Lovely and distracting!
Have had incredibly sore boobs for the whole time(usually only sore 2 days before period). Was daring to hope. Did a test yesterday(says can be accurate up to 6 days before missed period( and it was negative.:( Period due tomorrow-monday.
    Back to the drawing board!

    *waves*

    hi y'all.

long time lurker, first time poster here.

been trying to concieve for 18mths now, and have my referral to specialist next month. im 35, himself is a year older.

ive high prolactin on day 3, 21, and a subsequent non specific day blood test. its easily sorted with meds so really im hoping thats all that it is thats stopping us, but will know soon enough. i dont have any other common symptoms of this, am regular, have been using Ovulation prediction kits and checking cervical fluids.

i did approach this 'ttc' in a purposely laid back way. im a worrier by nature and i knew that if i didnt keep it reined in i would not be doing me any favours in the stress dept. so havent panicked or had a meltdown for the 18-20 periods ive had (quite proud of this:D) but im starting to get sad now so my fertility appointment next month is well timed.

ladies, ive read all your posts here, and your stories have really helped me not lose the plot. thankyou for sharing your path on this journey here.

Id also like to congrat you on your brill efforts for staying laid back, this is only my 7th month ttc and im on the brink of madness!! hehe! I really wish you all the best, and i know that there is great support for you here on this thread if you need it along the way! :) **Baby dust**

Im using clearblue digital ovulation kit this month (may as well try something - feel more productive!) just want to know if anyone knows if it matters if i use it at different times in the morning, as i work shifts, so sometimes i am testing at 6-7am and sometimes at about 10am, really dont want to get up at 7 am to test when im no working until later so just hoping its ok to do it whenever getting up? on day 11 of cycle now and started testing this morning. generally have 30 day cycle. any info appreciated! :)

Dublinlady, I would be interested in knowing the answer to your query also as I find myself very forgetful about using the ovulation p sticks at the same time each day :o

Do you use the test every day of your cycle til you find out your ovulating? Or just start using them say a week after a period?

I'm so annoyed, I didn't have the ovulation tests last month so ttc roughly around the time I was ovulating.
I'm not even going to try get my hopes up for this month. I was in work today & had to pick up a customers toddler to stop him running out the door into traffic.
The little 'darling' kicked me really hard in the abdomen when I picked him up, I don't think that does things down there too much good :(

I'm shocked at how strong the child was, I felt sick for about an hour after & its still tender. I'm normally a hardy thing, but this was sore!
Wouldn't mind but the parents didn't even thank me & barely acknowledged me (or their child!) when I handed him back.:mad:

Oh my god you poor thing!!
I work in retail also and have to say, i love children but i despise parents who dont at least pretend to make an effort to tidy up after their kids when they have caused complete chaos!! I understand the parent has their hands full and dont expect them to actually tidy up after them, im willing to do it, bit it just irritates me when they dont at least look apologetic...!!
Sorry random rant over! Hope ur ok tho!?

I have not really tried them before but on my pack (which contains 7 tests strips and one digital reader) it said to just test from day 11 to 18 (as i have a 30 day cycle - i think you start on day 10 if 28 day). As i have a 30 day cycle i expect to ovulate on day 16 but want confirmation as my cycle has not been right since the m/c in august. But i really dont think you need to be testing for more than day 10 to about 17-18 depending on your cycle lenght as you should be ovulating 14 days before your expected AF. What stage of ur cycle are you at? I hope it goes well for you, im at the stage where im just a little disheartened, ill keep trying but part of me already feels defeated... maybe that as taken some pressure off me tho.... i dont expect it to happen for months and months and just know it will be worth it in the end. This realisation = much less stress!

hi there, just to chime in... avoid using ovulation tests first thing in the morning. LH (the hormone that surges to trigger ovulation) takes time to show up in your urine. It is processed overnight but won't reach your urine in time for your first morning wee. Test using your second urine or any time thereafter up until late evening (9pm).
Just my own personal experience with CB digi ovulation tests is that they are a bit too sensitive and can give lots of smiley faces, it once happened to me for 4 days in a row. Alongside them I was doing the regular internet cheapie tests (I am a pee stick addict :o), and while the 4 days were all 'strong' only one of them (the last one) was a blaring positive. If I had have been using the dig's on their own I might have stopped having sex too early, know what I mean?

    best of luck ;)

I got my positive ovulation test today so now need to get to it! :p

Having some scares but the baby is still there and growing 7 weeks 2 days by size, 8 weeks 6 days by dates. Is older now than the baby we lost in Jan 09 that nearly destroyed us.

Well as long as he/she's growing - that's the main thing. Wasn't baby Shane a wee one too? Hope it all works out, I really do. can't believe we started ttc-ing around the same time and you're on your second - what an achievement!

edit: sorry only counting the months since your first viable pregnancy, obviously you were trying before then when you suffered those terrible losses

Thanks, though I would not wish the mis on anyone. Baby Shane went to dates from the begining but hopefully I ovulated late.

    Hi All,
Just joined boards today so all new to me!
Delighted to have found this thread.

We have being ttc for 2 years now - clomid for 6 months and now this month on injections and got a follicle of 18mm. Trying to keep fingers crossed.
Anyone know how soon you can test?
Bursting to know if this has finally worked! trying to stay positive!!!:D:D:D

    Detective foxtrot

    Thanks for chiming in!!:D
Still no smiley face but only on day 14 of 30 day cycle, wondering does it go smiley the day before or the day of ovulation? on the box it says anywhere up to 48 hrs which would mean i should have got one today! I did my usual morning test but after reading ur advice i did another one at 2 and still nothing. I suppose im not letting the testing affect my attempts as have already planned (and so far so good) to bd on day 10,12,14,15,16,17 just to make sure! Really im just doing the testing for reassurance that everything is gone back to normal after the m/c. its expensive enough tho so just wanted to do it for one month to be sure, if no luck this month may try charting temperature etc, sure anything for a bit of diversion! :D

that sounds like an excellent pattern for intercourse!:D - good plan Dublinlady!

I got my first positive OPK on Thurs eve (Day 15), then got a second positive Friday eve, then I ovulated Saturday. (I know it's Saturday due to my temps and other signs like ovulation pain and increased sex drive). My intercourse pattern is 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18 (17 is ovu day), will go again tomorrow, then skip a day, then again, then skip a day ( I like to have all my bases covered). Poor OH doesn't know what has hit him!

So to answer your question, you usually ovulate the day after the positive test. It can occur on the same day, but rarely. This only happens if you tested early in the day and you caught a positive on the end of the surge, you could technically ovulate later that eve. To be sure I always have sex the day of my first positive and then every day until ovulation is confirmed (by my charting software) and then every other day again for a while after that.

    Hope this helps ;)

    Welcome ;)

Am not to knowledgeable on injects but from reading other boards you shouldn't test too early as you'll get positives from the HCG trigger shot injection. Probably best to wait until your period is due or maybe 1 or 2 days before that, but avoid super early testing ... you don't want to get freaked out by a positive that turns negative, although if you can handle that you can technically test whenever you want.

    GL :)

    Thanks detective!
That helps alot, especially since i got a smiley face this lunchtime!! Poor hubby gonna get assaulted when he gets home!! Its weird, even tho i havent even o'd yet i have a good feeling about this month.... trying to get that out of my head as will only be more disappointed if not! no harm with a bit of positivity tho i suppose!
Well will def do my best over the next 48 hours and after that i have to leave it in the hands of fate! Very luckily i am going away for 5 days during this 2 week wait and also have a wedding so should be distracted enough to prevent me going pure mad!
    Good luck to all!:)

    aw thanks May x ;)

Another tip dublinlady is to put a pillow under your bum after intercourse, to help the swimmers. I though this was an urban myth (although followed it religiously) until my RE actually advised it also
Try avoid going the loo up to an hour after sex, as there's a risk that kegels will push the sperm back out.

Good luck and get to it girl!
