First Katy French, now Joshua Allen.

When will these evil drug dealers leave our innocent celebrities alone.

Hopefully the establishment can sort this out.

Jail is only for a certain class of people.

If he is treated the same as the shiny tracksuit brigade he will get a suspended sentence, no jail time.

The son had €30,000 of drugs on him. That is mid size drug dealing territory.

Years of reported Garda seizure exaggerations would lead me to believe the value would be closer to the range of €10k-€15k. They like to inflate numbers to impress or scandalise.
Still a saucy amount to have delivered, probably about a year's supply for 30-40 people.

Sure just look at the breath testing for drink driving.

    Sorry, alleged breath tears.

Sorry, but the relish is soooo good. I've made my choice and I'm comfortable with it.

Well you know what the special ingredient is now, and maybe why you like it so.

    Just a young idiot.
Where did he get the money for 30k worth though (presume that 30k is gardaí estimate for gross profit)?

Garda Street Value= think of a number and multiply by 2

That link says 1.5kg so about €20k realistically.

3.3lb if it came from the states or Canada. No way it was his first order going for something that size. I'd say it was a kg overall.

I feel for her to be honest. I've a child that age and even though they are adults in the eyes of the law you don't seem them that way, you see them as kids. It's tough then when you can't do much to help your child in that situation.

Ah sure god love them. Hope they can scrape the money together for good legal representation.

Maybe if the Cork Pheasant Murderer, who did deliberately, callously, and with beastliness of forethought, murder a lovely, innocent pheasant, had just given him more time as a mother instead.

The people I know who did similar when it was first reported the media made the haul out to be a lot heavier than it actually was.

I hope she treated him better than she treated the poor pheasant

Maybe not his first order but at his age (also - he's a posh twonk) he was possibly cajoled into ordering it by somebody who didn't want the risk? Just guessing of course. It's a large amount for anybody to order.

On the plus side with him being young it'll affect his life minimally, especially given which drug it is. Nobody cares about weed except anachronistic puritans. He has all the time in the world to absolve himself after carrying out this most grievous of crimes

18 years old and importing 30k of cannabis , pretty shocking really.

A drug conviction does follow you around - certainly will make traveling to the states more difficult for one.

True true. Hopefully he doesn't see any need to go there. Now it's his forbidden fruit, he'll always pine for it.

    What a muppet.

Hopefully no special treatment is doled out here. This is very serious.

Its weed, how serious could it really be?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,704 ✭✭✭✭padd b1975

So he's been arrested but not found guilty of anything yet ? so much for innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Wasn't his Granada supposed to have taken the peadophila porn rap for one of the sons ?

He'll be pleading guilty at the first available opportunity according to his mother's statement.

From what I remember the same lad took transition year out of school and she was unsure If he was going back or not.
She said he did a tractor courses/etc and once he was working at something she was happy. He also said he had some learning disability.(It was years ago and can't fully remember)

She should call Bob Mattingburg, the finest mind in British legal history.
