    Just a young idiot.
Where did he get the money for 30k worth though (presume that 30k is gardaí estimate for gross profit)?

I feel for her to be honest. I've a child that age and even though they are adults in the eyes of the law you don't seem them that way, you see them as kids. It's tough then when you can't do much to help your child in that situation.

I know people and they managed to buy a similar amount of drugs online and it was similar to this with the suspicious parcel being delivered when they got caught out. They'd also have had no real source of income.

Thought this was gonna be the "other" son.

    Weird how it's another lad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 565 ✭✭✭Trasna1

Must have been a sizeable parcel, but I doubt it was worth €30k. That's somewhere between 2.5 and 5kg of product.

Agreed. It's no reflection on her personally, the statement says just about all you can say in that situation.

joshua? the least sounding drug dealer name iv ever head. he must have thought he was 21 savage or something, the clown, like he needed to sell drugs.

€30k as a *first shipment*? Sure it was...

I often wonder what street it is you're buying your cocaine on, because it's not the same street as I'm buying my cocaine on.

They'd also have had no real source of income.

couple of GFX cards and some knowhow and you can easily mine Monero cryptocurrency

then Dark-net-markets will send anything you desire

Janey mack, WTF is wrong with that family? Grandad done for child porn, grandson arrested dealing drugs.

And those O'Briens radio ads. Just an assault on the ears.

My boycott of the Allen family continues. What a clan.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 565 ✭✭✭Trasna1

Importing drugs through the post is incredibly risky though - 100% dependent on other person to pack it properly and cleanly and conceal or there is a non trivial risk it will be picked up.

And if it's picked up, they literally have your name and address.

    Legalise ballymoe relish?

Look they may be a white collar food crime family but they are our white collar food crime family. And the relish is good.

Padlock isn't on the bench this time around to hand out community service along with a charitable donation.

Judge Brian Sheridan is the judge for that area according to the courts service website, from googling him he takes no sh1t, but then again we are dealing with celebrities here.

Ballymaloe is a gateway relish, you start of with a bit on a cracker& cheese
Before you know it you're spooning jalapeno chutney direct from the fridge at 3am.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,222 ✭✭✭✭freshpopcorn

Mod Note No more jokes referring to pedophiles/etc!

Just once you don’t start injecting you should be ok

I suppose it could be anyone's child.

The value of the haul is high for so called "personal use" isn't it? But what would I know!

I reckon it's small enough in the big picture to warrant a suspended sentence or a fine. No one should be jailed for a small shipment like this no matter who they are, unless there is gangland involvement. He will be watched like a hawk from now on.

A lot to be said for legalisation for own use all the same.

    Nah, you're grand thanks.

So you think it's ok to support a family...a criminal family it seems, one of which has been convicted of possessing child pornography?

Thats up to you but dont expect everyone to.

And thats all from me, im guilty of thread derailing...but not possession of child pornography.

When a family is trying to be as squeaky clean and wholesome as the Allens, something is bound to go wrong.

We all know that the judiciary take a dim view of the importation of illicit fruit and veg. He'd probably do less time claiming it's ganja.

Wait a minute he sent off for it and tried to have it delivered by post?

Instead of being devastated would she not be more annoyed that he is so stupid.

Ah here, worth distinguishing between family and individual family member. Think of the opposite - a positive achievement: is a gold medallist's family all winners or is it just the gold medallist?

It's hardly a "criminal family" - that's hysterical. It's an extended family with a convicted criminal and an alleged criminal - grandfather and grandson. To hold e.g. Rachel responsible for her father in law, and e.g. Darina responsible for her grandson, lacks the most basic of critical thinking.

The law's the law and it's his own fault for being a dope...but young people having their lives destroyed over cannabis doesn't really sit right with me; especially with the way things seem to be generally trending in the west, N. America in particular.

"it seems" being the word right there

please provide some proof of their alleged criminal dealings

this is no reason to tarnish the whole family for one members sordid proclivities
