Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No, that simply did not happen to one, the poor mother must have gotten herself lost or was swept aboard with the great unwashed. The only reasonable explanation available to one. Quite astounding in this day and age.

Hope you didn't. And instead played him this song that a nice Jewish man wrote for him.

Of course he thought it was a girl's name.....

Just got me wondering, is the Oxford University's backup rowing crew still called ISIS or have they changed the name to reflect current sensibilities?

Illegal as well it should be.

People pricking around with names should be done for child abuse or child cruelty.

    Imagine being called... Nutella O’Malley

I know a child recently named Alexa. With Alexa being integrated into phones, speakers, cars, headphones, TVs this is going to be a nightmare.

The mother shouts "Alexa go to bed" and the TV and lights all turn off.

Naoise for a girl, and she would be about 40 now. Obviously not Jim Fitzpatrick fans. They heard the name and liked it.

Naoise's always been a boy's name to me, but then it started being a girl's name. Very confusing!

My milkman is a Waterford boy and tells me his daughter’s middle name is Deise. He’s told Croatian missus that it’s an old Irish princess!!

Mind you I worked with a couple years ago who had two kids - Lukas and Leia, took the husband years to twig the meaning, not a sci-fi fan!!

Always curious as up how many of those there are out there!!!

I met a lad who called his son Cullen, after the mythical warrior Cuchulainn.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that Cullen was the name of the chieftain who had his hound killed by Setanta
(Setanta then became Cuchulainn - which means The Hound of Cullen).
