Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking for a recommendation of a handyman (I'm living in Salthill) to do some jobs around the house e.g. fix some lights, hang a new post box, shave a bit off a door that's expanded etc.

We also use HC for help with investments, and are happy with them. If you want someone in town, a few people recommended Future (on Merchant's Road) to us when we were looking for someone, but we have no actual experience of dealing with them

Noticed folding stools today in Mr Price. I think they are aluminum with padded plastic seat. Not sure how heavy.

Dogs Trust takes them, as its less than 15, they need to be posted.
The postal address is Dogs Trust, Ashbourne Rd, Finglas, Dublin 11.

Otherwise, City Bin says they go to landfill, ie black bin.

There's a cobblers on Sea Road. I'd say they'd do it no problem and would be used to dealing with leather products. Or the lads in town on Abbeygate Street and in Corbett Court. The do shoes and keys and stuff.

I'd go with the cobblers personally if it has sentimental value.

I agree- GottaRun in Oranmore is your best bet. If you can’t travel that far, elverys on the Headford Road (next to IMC cinema) do gait analysis and have a fair range of running shoes/clothes etc.

We used Pat Connaughton( think that’s his spelling!). He has an ad regularly in the advertiser. He’s a lovely man and does a great job so I would well recommend him.

Going to skeptically try to vinegar the weeds on my driveway - any idea where in town I can get a load of vinegar (for cheap, hopefully)?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 140 ✭✭Rolllo

They sometimes have big bottles of vinegar in mr.price.

The Indian/Pakistani food shop in Westside have 5l canisters of vinegar. Can't remember the exact price, but it's very reasonable.
The shop is on the far right past the post office and Foodland.

Looking for less than a dozen irregular stepping stones to make a path across the garden. Something like this but maybe the stones more spread out.

I haven't seen nice irregular stone like that around Galway - it's usually slabs. You can get stepping stones but they are usually circles. I would ask in the Gardening forum.

I vaguely remember B&Q having some.

Just a thought, the salvage place on Circular Road owned by Denis Goggin might be worth a shout. They deal in reclaimed stone and that type of thing.

    You might get lucky.
