Ah yeah, I understand. But usually a few planes that attend bray usually land and stay overnight in Weston. Was just wondering what if anything was coming in?

That's what I'm saying. They've made absolutely no announcement to date, as to what's arriving. Yet they're changing people €10 in the gate!

The list of arrivals is now up on the Weston facebook page.

I was walking home from the Celbridge street fete today when they came in low and fast, was mightly impressed with the organisers to have arranged it but it makes more sense now!

Nice of them to buzz the village all the same

Weather is dire here this morning. Just seen a G reg single prop plane approach Weston from totally the wrong flight path for landing. He circled round and came in correctly but pitched over. So I take it it's a poxy day for landing?

Weather is right around the minimums for the Vor approaches so certainly not ideal!

A few weeks back i flew out of dublin and noticed several light jets stuck in the queue. For speed how come more of these jets dont fly out of weston. Is it because the fuel load they have is to heavy to take out or for other reasons?

There are some privately owned business jets that visit Weston, but you'll almost never see a commercially operated (eg chartered) jet there because of the runway length restrictions. I believe a business jet on a commercial flight needs to be able to stop within 60% of the runway landing distance available, whereas the very same jet owned and operated privately can utilise the full length if required. Or something like that....

Plus the airport's closed at 5 pm and has no runway lightning.

Did that or another DC-3 arrive again sometime after 1230 today? Caught a quick glimpse of some aircraft similar fly directly overhead Smithfield heading for Weston.

Weston management recently came up with the notion that aircraft owners would pay their hangarage fees but allow the management to push their aircraft outside for management to use the hangars for private events, such as car launches, yet the aircraft owners would continue to pay for hangarage, even when their aircraft were outside. Naturally, this notion was challenged, management insisted that it was it's way or the highway and the upshot was that several owners have now taken their aircraft out and moved elsewhere, so that quite a few thousands of annual guaranteed revenue gone out the door, apart from landing fees and fuel sales.

The Landing and Touch & Go Fees were also increased recently further adding to the costs of operators using the airport.

Just to clarify, hangar based operators will pay outdoor rates when displaced, not full hangar fees. Sadly 50% on landings and T&G as well as an increase in parking both in and outdoors I think is probably what caused the exodus.

Star item was DC-3 N8336C enroute to the Daks over Normandy event to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day landings.
I also believe Falcon 900 M-DUBS was the 1st visit of the type to Weston.
