What councilor is at this nonsense now? Do we know if anyone is setting them straight?

It was bad enough when a previous local councilor was elected to D reann some years back and proclaimed in the Dail that she has seen a Ryanair jet land at Weston! Cue front page stories about that rubbish. She didn't quite understand it wouldn't have stopped until it reached the old ESB shop.

Brendan Young I believe, and nobody is correcting him. These meetings are a mutual reinforcement society. There is a much more Americanised crude term I could use, except I'd need to moderate it if anyone else did...

Murphy's insanity about it reached phenomenal levels. The fact is nobody bought a house without knowing Weston was there - there may be a tiny few who inherited one.

Ok, I'll send him a wee email. I really wonder what he thinks would be better on the last green belt between Dublin and Kildare instead of a few small lawnmowers flying overhead occasionally on a sunny day. I wonder if the recent high level of traffic on the Bray air show weekend reignited old anti-airport rhetoric. Maybe they're annoyed that an EI plane landed there that weekend :-)

The airport is up for re zoning or re development or something. There's a consultation process at the moment. I posted a few pages back asking about it

Its not just him involved in the current insanity. The Social Democrats (Murphy as before, with her very poor concept of transport - she claimed we could run a maglev to Maynooth rather than replace bridges to put overhead wires in....) and Sinn Fein are both subscribing fully to the same nonsense. Populism over practicalities.

I was wondering it's a nice day for flying and nothing around.

It's closed because this is on http://runwayclub.ie/. It's been planned for a long time.

More stuff in liffey champion today about the public meetings.

The main body of the article is ok however there is a sidebar of a chap who is going on about radiation from the comms .... real hide under table with silver foil hat stuff .

The part where the journalist says they want to install "pappys" is quite funny
... you would think in this age of Google they would get it right.
