Due to weather Spitfire & Seafire and the aerobatic team whose name eludes me at the moment went straight to Shannon.
They will arrive Weston tomorrow after they have performed at Foynes.

Took the kids down sat afternoon. Had a Great time and saw everything I wanted to see except the dc3 ... that must have turned up late I could see it doing circuits round balldonnel .

Well organised by Weston thought the coupon thingie was a bit of a rip off tbh although I was never asked for any coupon to enter either ' enclosure . One little thing if someone had a coffee stand they would have made a FORTUNE !!!!

Is the pembroke a resident ? It was around since Monday.... I remember it was there a while ago.

Also I wonder who is tying the knot ... anyone who saw the banner tow will know what I mean

    What's the goal/drive behind this? https://consult.sdublincoco.ie/en/consultation/weston-aerodrome-review-land-use-planning-framework
Could reviewing "the land use planning framework governing the future development and operation of Weston Aerodrome" close the airport?
What are the "changing European safety requirements"?

This thread is probably the best place... Anyone know what flew over Celbridge around 5am today? Sounded big, loud and low...

It woke me up too. It sounded like one of the rescue choppers.

Demented ramblings of a rabbler Councillor in the Liffey Champion this week convinced EASA are "forcing" us to have Weston as a second airport for Dublin. Lunatic.

Was a meeting of SF/SD/rabbler to rant about an airport that predates effectively every nearby resident and definitely every nearby housing estate last week.

Meeting going on upstairs in the county bar right now. I'm having a pint instead downstairs, the trad is on

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,181 ✭✭✭Davidth88

Yes I saw the posters up about 100s of more jets and more danger and noise

    What a load of c***

What was discussed at the meeting does anyone know ?

Tbh I would rather have an airfield there than another 2000 houses which is what would happen.

I had some twit ranting at me about Ryanair wanting to move into Weston...he wouldn't listen to anything I said about how flight paths work etc and why that would never happen.

What councilor is at this nonsense now? Do we know if anyone is setting them straight?

It was bad enough when a previous local councilor was elected to Dáil Éireann some years back and proclaimed in the Dail that she has seen a Ryanair jet land at Weston! Cue front page stories about that rubbish. She didn't quite understand it wouldn't have stopped until it reached the old ESB shop.
