Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The sun spilting the sky all day long and everyone going for walks or sitting outside eating and drinking like on the continent.

Honestly after the dreadful weather we have has so far, the beautiful day we had today has nearly made me cry!

8 hours of uninterrupted sleep… didn’t even get woken up by my student neighbours going outside for their first smoke of the day together which between the decibel shattering guffaws, asthmatic coughing, door slamming and eccentric Knox Harrington like psycho giggling from the ultra camp one 🔪 ….this has to have been a first….

Seriously feeling the better of it 😎…. Mmmmmm sleep.

Chatting to a young coworker and he was looking for something and I thought I had seen it but wasn't sure and I said to him 'im fairly sure I saw it but I'm never sure of myself so I'll say I'm 75% sure' and he said "ah stop ' and we were both laughing 🤣😂🤣

Seen a few weird interactions recently. I work near a massive London cancer hospital. I walk by one day for a snack at the shop and this monster of a man comes out in handcuffs. Like, he's almost 7 foot tall, easily. He's accompanied by two short police officers and there's no ill-feeling. It was a nice day and he said he was grateful to be outside.

FA Cup final was yesterday and I live beside the stadium. Overheard two older fans from Manchester talking:

"I live in Liverpool now. Married a Scouser"

    "Sounds like a tough gig".

Also, my Chinese colleague eats his bread with chopsticks and dismantles his sandwiches before eating them.

My boss stayed late with someone recently. They gave her some chocolate which she doesn't want so she's given it to me.

    Happy days.

I saw an elderly couple walking along a busy path(alongside a busy road) with their gorgeous pit bull(blue coated), dog was oblivious to the noise and activity and she walked along with her fav rubber chicken toy in her mouth. I could see even with a quick glance that the chicken toy was sooooo precious to her.

Running low on tea and my Mum has better things to do at the moment than send more so I popped to Kilburn and walked around. Tried a Tesco, a Sainsbury's, and three corner shops. The third somehow had both Barry's Tea and Club Orange which was nice.

another good nights sleep and a good start to the day as this morning found my jacket I mentioned in the TA thread that I thought I must have left away in the hotel, it fell off the hanger and was lying on a bag at the very back of the wardrobe. 😎

I'm off work until Monday week! 😎 I've nothing much planned (except going to a gig tonight, and a doctor's appointment on Tuesday morning 😄) but I'm happy enough with that.

And I still have 9 more holiday days to use before the end of June, before starting on this year's holidays.

I love digging through my record shelves for a type of gig I haven't played in a while and either rediscovering a banger I forgot about or newly discovering one that I missed the first time around.

Case in point, I'm playing an uptempo funk/boogie/disco gig tonight. I was digging through my disco section and found this album by the amazing Crown Heights Affair. I used to play this track off it a lot when I lived in Singapore around 2008 ish.

It's in the crate for tonight! ;-)

Yes, the way one record sets you off onto playing another (with a tangential connection). I experienced this an hour ago with the just-released Now Yearbook 1974 inspiring me to also dig out my favourite 1999 album, a worthy way to sign off the decade. Check out that video for The Rubettes.

Found some fish fingers I don't like in the freezer, I cooked them and left them to cool by that window.

Half and hour later every single crumb of them is gone from the plate. I hope whatever stole them, enjoyed!

family birthday celebration tomorrow, I’ve been dreading it due to lack of energy but it’s been a nice busy enough but restful weekend that has seen me slightly more or less 100% restored, so fućk it….

Took it into my head to clear out the junk from under the stairs space, not easy as it's household and all of it needs to be cleared by the big NO, and it can be hard to move even a small amount of the items there. Even tho it's been there since 2013 and has not been missed.

Got a surprising amount out of the space and th as it's a bank holiday, it's cheap to run the dishwasher and get the items bound for the homeless charities hygienically clean.

Even got the dog toys cleared and cleaned!

was typing in the TA thread about having mislaid a Rayban case, still had the glasses but the case had gone awol. As per usual the page crashes before I could post….

Can’t be arsed typing it again. Then 10 minutes later I decide to put away 3 winter jackets / coats that won’t be worn till later in the year, felt something in a pocket, it’s my missing case…..😅

    THs from today:

    1. Getting the chance to sit in the park under some trees, well wrapped up against the chilly breeze, listening to music and to the birdsong, the dappled sunlight breaking through from time to time.
    2. The blackbirds being brave enough to come close to pick up the crumbs I left for them.
    3. A kind, thoughtful soul thinking about me and getting me a croissant (not the "industrial" ones, either - it was magnificent).
    4. Another kind, caring soul, whom I hadn't seen in ages, popping by just to say hello and to give me a hug because she was nearby and had 2 mins flat to spare.

Spending time with my niece and nephew at the beach, the 4 year old little princess is a getting very cheeky, getting me to wash her bucket and spade for her and I was pretending to fall for it she was roaring mad with laughter and then she goes, "just hold them now for a second" and then she runs off giggling mad, I was pretending to be outraged then saying "oi come back here and take you bucket and spade" she starts roaring mad with laughter then 😂😂😂😄😄

Then back at their house I had a nerf gun fight with the biyeen, loads of fun 😄😄.

I was considering doing a job in the back garden but it didn't work out, so I was just sitting on a stool that I had there, just staring into space for a while, contemplating the universe.

Then…a robin landed on the third last rung of the ladder that was a metre in front of me, and stared at me for about 10 seconds, so obviously I said "Howya!". It craned its head to the side, still looking at me for another 5 seconds, and then flew away.

    'Twas lovely!

It's said that Robins are the messengers from our deceased loved ones and when they stare like that it's a sign that a person you are special to is saying hi!

When an item from my music wantlist turns up for sale. And when I check the seller's other items he has another half dozen from the said wantlist thereby saving on postage.

I met about half a dozen healthy bees in the garden yesterday, such a change from last year when I was dumping half-dead bees into honey water.

Sitting in traffic on friday sweating in the hot weather and three young lads passed by me. Maybe 11-12 years old. Full GAA and soccer kits, throwing a ball between them, laughing and joking and not a care in the world as they headed towards the park. . Made me smile, wouldn’t it be great to be a kid again, nowhere to be and no timetable to follow.
