Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don’t think that’s quite true regarding the counties in the North, they too use 3 stripes. But if you look at club jerseys from San Fran or Oz you’ll most likely see 2 stripes.

You’re probably right, definitely I’m wrong on the jersey. Googled Tyrone one there. I had something in my head about the Northern counties with O’Neills gear. Maybe it’s all gear outside of jerseys? Like polo shirts , tracksuit, jackets, etc. Again I could be imagining it too

  • Registered Users Posts: 649 ✭✭✭DuffleBag

SD have confirmed on their instagram that it does have 3 stripes.

I reckon they have both versions for sale like O'neills depending on which site you go on and they used the wrong images.

  • Registered Users Posts: 957 ✭✭✭BloodyBill

Well that Sports Direct logo is awful but we expected that. The Jersey itself isn't great either..it looks a size too small on everyone and just a bad design

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,166 ✭✭✭zetecescort

any idea how much (if anything) county boards get from the sale of jerseys, hats, tracksuits etc from O'Neills.

looking at Horgan's interview on the news the logo looks awful on the leisure gear too.

48 euro on Sportsdirect and 70 on O'Neills.... why?

    £48 not €48.

Price of jersey on the sportsdirect website was 48 euro today, its now 70 so thats the end of that

It wasn't 48 euros, it was 48 sterling which is around 60 euros.

Kind of surprised to hear a forward being against the black card. They are rare overall (some teams more cynical than others) and the GAA has over-innovated with the rules in football but some of the tackles in hurling to prevent goals are as blatant as it gets.

I'd rather he said that even if he believes the opposite, or not. The last thing we need is giving ammo to other counties who would no doubt accuse us of wanting easy scores / getting lads booked. We already have the reputation of being both soft and lacking bottle, we need to lose that pronto.

    Very true.
And a lot of those giving the abuse about losing identity with English soccer pics and references in their bios!

Embarrassing the county on and off the pitch....

  • Registered Users Posts: 207 ✭✭Rocko

The Youghal beach training session has been a complete embarrassed for Cork Gaa and appealing it has made it look worse.

Is Ronan McCarthy being made a scapegoat for this? Surely the Cork County Board also knew that this training session was taking place.

If the two doctors that rescued the dog on the Wicklow mountains are being investigated by the Garda for a Covid 5km breach could Ronan McCarthy etc also be in trouble with the Gardai.

Surprised with the appeal. Clueless carry-on

No because at the time GAA intercounty was covered under elite sport - they only (and I use the word only very loosely) broke a GAA rule not a covid level 5 rule.

As the GAA is now no longer falling under elite sport - they would be breaking Covid rules now.

IMO counties should be able to run their championships as they see fit. That motion and the one banning dual captains from collecting a trophy are complete overreach from the association.

Looking for the club. Old ganmire Road where Taunton haulage is. There are two pitches to the right of it. What's the club?

Where do you mean by Old Glanmire road? I’d know most pitches but I can’t figure out exactly what area you’re referring to

For what it worth, they aren’t going to be involved with the team this year anyway.

They’re picketing for something very out-there and if they were somebody representing you, some might not want that to be associated with them.

In Sport it might not matter to some as much, but still.

No but given the efforts made by gaa clubs last year and everything that was done to get games played it’s fairly disappointing to see inter county players out like that

Cork GAA ordered to pay 300k for the street lights down the Marina, way above the boards offer of 60k and well below the 750k the council wanted.

Going to be some spot when they’re done with all phases of Marina Park. Hopefully they put money into lighting the length of the marina.

Where does today’s announcement leave the unplayed championship finals from last year? Assume there’s potential for club leagues being run before September.
