Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

not tracking much but is this just for weekend or can we expect it to fall into next week Monday etc ? as weather seems all over the place rainy mild, to frosty but not dipping below 0 in most areas, for last couple weeks. disaster when it comes to getting flu when these changes happen daily.

The flu is a virus. You don't get it from changeable weather.

5C in Galway. Doesnt feel snowy just yet.

It feels a lot colder this evening than it has previous evenings near Bandon... Ninja snow again like last year (or year before) maybe!??!?!

Jean byrne on the forecast there . She said there track of the system on Sunday is still uncertain however it now looks like rain and sleet in the south will turn to Snow over much of Connaught

  • Registered Users Posts: 269 ✭✭Mount Vesuvius

Midnight Sunday according to the UKMET.
    fax36s_yrr3.gif

I think expect a wintry mix but mostly rain in lower elevations and in the south.

Yeah the showers will be on and off.

Maybe a bit more prolonged just before sunrise but with temps holding above freezing away from high ground for most any deposits won't be hanging around.

We had decent snowfall the last two winters, this snow shield “banter” is getting boring.

Hailiboys out here too. And bitter cold.

Wearing one of the hats I have knitted to sell!

Please, check on old and alone neighbours? Very hard to get shopping and fuel in in this weather.
( fine here as living islandlife means staying well stocked well ahead)

Here comes the hail again! Sounds a little different so maybe sleet ?

Drove from Douglas to city centre at 6.30. A really heavy shower of wet snow as we drove in - that snow shield may have a little leak in it :)

At about 7 this morning Knock airport had a heavy shower of hail/sleet/snow that lasted about 5 mins. Roads were slippy enough around there. At half 7 it was 60/70% melted. Temperature is showing around 2 degrees but the wind would go through ya.

    Absolutely gorgeous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,182 ✭✭✭pauldry

If it werent so windy itd snow proper. Air is cold but wind keeping temperature that bit too high

There's plenty of stuff showing up on sattelite out in the Atlantic. Whether it's cold enough for snow I don't know but it certainly won't be a dry afternoon!! Sweet spot if I could find one would be Thurles (north enough to remain in the cold and south enough to catch the ppn moving through later)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,634 ✭✭✭✭Graces7

Nothing here but an icy cold wind..

No snow but was awoken by the loudest hail shower I've ever experienced last night, thought the windows were gone.
Very cold here outside Newport, Mayo but a lovely blue sky, great day for a walk.

    latest from met.ie

Cold and blustery today with sunny spells and scattered showers, frequent this morning in
the Northwest. Some of the showers will have a wintry mix of hail, sleet and snow,
especially on high ground with some thunder.
    During the afternoon and evening
scattered outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will move Northwards over the country
. Moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds will be strong near coasts,
with gales in the west and northwest.

Hit and miss through the day. No consistency on where will be affected by longer periods of sleet and snow this evening and overnight from the models.

We'll just have to observe as we go along. Anywhere really is at risk of some snowfall today or overnight.
