Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

its becoming extremely windy now in louisburgh!!!
id stick mt cam out but its making flashes of lightning...

Stand on your roof holding an aerial, shouting 'come on thunder'... worse thing that can happen is you'll turn into Frankenstein's Monster and amble around frightening the neighbours. Best thing is you could turn into Harry Potter and get snuffed out by Voldermart.

I edited you're too quick! Probably more 3-4ish for you I estimate!

raining in Clare !!! No change to the rest of the year then.... *sigh*

Wind picked up around teatime as I was bringing a barrow of hay across the yard - dispatched it nicely into a tumbleweed-style scene anyway.

Normally I'd be excited but my OH has to fly out of Dublin tomorrow as his mum's poorly so fingers crossed that all goes according to plan. Also he'll be leaving me on my own here and I can't tie the shed roof back down on my own.

Wild weather here right now, very stormy with horizontally blowing hail, impressive to watch from the comfort of the living room with the hail blowing right into the window!

Some nice looking showers on the way soon as well but have to be up in the morning so that'll have to do for tonight. Tomorrow should be interesting!

If the power goes try and make it to Enda's underground bunker in Castlebar, it is built to withstand all kinds of calamities.

The 62 mph gust reported at Mace Head at 00:00 is about 10mph stronger than the maximum gusts that the hi res NMM model predicted for that area at that time. It wasn't predicting gusts of that strength for another 6 hours.

    Lights flickering too.

I seen this happen a few times before. for tomorrows wind-speed rte weather forecast on the 9 o clock news shows 85 km/h but at the end of the weather it shows wind-speed 35 km/h for tomorrow. how can the both of these winds-speeds for tomorrow be correct in the same weather forecast from rte on the nine news ?. the wind-speed tomorrow is either 85 km/h or 35 km/h how can it be two different wind-speeds ?

Has been getting windy in the last 2 hours in S. Kerry
Gusts increasing and just had a light hail shower.
(Have had very little hail so far this year so it makes a change from the rain).

It's now snowing in Newry. Not a lot of wind but the showers are steady. No sticking as of yet as the ground is so wet. Doesn't really look like it will stick at all.

I cant understand all these snow reports, Air temp here is 4.9c. Surely its the same over most of the country?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,700 ✭✭✭Mountainsandh

It's snowing here in Co Waterford border Sth Tipp, 190 masl. There a layer on car and grass, but thankfully so far not sticking to road... I couldn't sleep and checked at 5am there was just a powdery dust, now it's real snow showers though.

edit : showers have stopped now, looks like it's getting a tad warmer.

Lovely sleet shower this morning around 5.30am in North Dublin.

Stuck nicely to the car but that's all. Car thermometer indicates +2 deg C.

    Breezy but not windy.

Feels colder than it actually is.
