Woke up with the stinking cold that's doing the rounds. Thankfully my work days are flexible, no get and go at all.

I bought "easy peelers". Not only is peeling them like trying to rip a soccer ball with my bare hands, but they don't break into segments properly. So, I either have to mangle the pieces in order to separate them or shove a good few segments in my gob together and risk choking. And the bloody things are sour.

YUM. The rest sounds annoying but YUM. Bittersweet oranges are the bizzo. And if it’s a choice between sweet but not bitter or vice versa, I’ll take the latter any day.

Which leads to MY trivial annoyance. I bought oranges today that are just sweet, no kick to them at all. I hate that. And you can never really tell what they’ll be like until you get them home.

May I ask what your major is in college? I don't mean to be nosey and you can tell me to piss off. I won't mind, heh.

The arsehole in front of me this morning who decided he was in the wrong lane so indicated and merrily changed lanes. Not once, but 3 times.

3! In a distance of about 600 yards. The third time we were in the lane to turn left when genius realised he wanted to go straight. So he decided to indicate right and sit there when the light was green.

I beeped like a demented woman until he pulled in front of the car in the other lane. That muppet will cause an accident with thatcarry on. I'm off now to surgically remove the horn (no sniggering) from my hand.

As if Monday mornings aren't bad enough.

I don't know how the American university system works (and yes I could google it but it's easier to ask you :p). In Ireland, unless you study something open like Arts, where you take three subjects for the first year eg maths, english, philosophy etc and then take two for the final two years, all university courses are majors from start to finish ie science, medicine, engineering etc.

What do Americans mean by majoring?

Not at all, I’m doing New Media and English

EDIT: but yeah, that’s the course and not a major like in the US.

A fly flew down my throat today. A stupid fly, right at the second I turned me head, fly right down my throat.

I've been coughing and irritated for hours now.

    What a stupid bloody fly.

This reminds me of years ago when I first moved to Galway. I was cycling down Eglinton Street and a fly flew into my mouth. It was a busy time of the year and I'll never forget pedestrians and car drivers alike all turning to look at me as I gagged and projectile vomited on the street :o

Sickly indulgent parents and bratty children. "Little Soji is such a child-genius", yeah, it shows in the spirited way he trashes everything everywhere he goes!

I was lookung at a friend's rabbit in its straw filled hutch when a flying insect shot up my nose. Appearances be damned I wasn't letting it get comfortable in my sinuses.

A vicious aggressive wasp kept dive bombing my head while I was walking somewhere a few weeks ago. The strength of will it took not to smack the side of my own head when it landed there was immense.

I dropped my glasses on the way to work. Out of my motorbike jacket pocket on the N7... I have no doubt they are in a million pieces by now. So no glasses and squinting for a few days :(

The vending machine in the office kitchen is a bit dodgy. Sometimes your bag of crisps or whatever gets stuck. To solve this you buy a second bag and that will knock the first loose.

My TA is people have the habit of banging it like they are Mike Tyson or rocking it by tilting it back and then it slam off the floor. Tbh if that went forward and fell over you it could kill you perhaps

The floor of the whole office vibrates

I wonder what the workers downstairs think

On here if one has a different point of view, certain posters are straight back with, "touch a nerve". In some silly attempt to make out the person has a personal/vested interest and therefore nullifying their POV.

First they came for the socialists...

Many years ago in Munich, I pulled a beer vending machine down on top of myself.
I was very drunk. I started rocking it on its front edge, it came too far forward, I couldn't hold it so I stepped back and it fell, hitting my thighs on the way down. Lucky to get away with bad bruising.
I subsequently read about several people a year dying doing exactly what I did!
    Dope.

Eejits hogging pool tables. The odd time I like to play a game of pool and on 2 Saturday nights in a row in the pub were these 2 tossers eating pringles and then putting the empty pringles container on the pool table and hitting it with the balls instead of playing proper pool. And sniggering like clowns and in no way concerned others actually wanted to play pool.
