Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi
Can I ask which website you ordered from?
Is it just the control that has option for delivery to Ireland ? (I can't check as out of stock)
I'm looking to get the shield pro but getting error so wonder if there is a loop hole to get product delivered from the nvidia website.

    thanks

Use Parcel Motel or similar site to order if they dont deliver to RoI.
I ordered mine from Amazon,it was the same price as Nvidia site iirc.

I'm trying to set up Plex on my Nvidia Shield however I am getting the following message, can seem to find a simple solution so any help would be gratefully received.

Have a small 32" in bedroom that I wouldn't mind getting a Shield for (currently have Roku on it).. not going to splurge on the Pro just yet so am thinking either:

    A) 2015 Shield Model from CEX for about €150 (have a rake of stuff to trade in also).
    B) 2019 Tube Model from Amazon for about the same via Warehouse.

2015 Model from CEX only comes with Controller and not remote so could pick up new remote from Nvidia (when it comes back in stock) - I'll then use that for 2017 model and assume I can use my 2017 remote on 2015 model.

But then again.. if I'm forming out for a new remote, would I be better just picking up Tube model? Decisions.. decisions..

Aren't there limitations with the tube model being only 32bit

Decent chance you can just control the Shield with your TV remote. It needs to support HDMI-CEC remote pass-through. I haven't used the Shield remote in months. Occasionally I have to use the Android TV app on my phone for stuff but that's only if an app crashes (very rare) or I need to log in to something and want to use a keyboard.

Hmmm.. possibly, but I have a decent Roku box which is perfect for Netflix / Sky News / Emby etc.

Might be talking myself out of it to be honest! :D

Where's the best place to sell the 2017 model?
I have all the original contents, remote, gaming controller, box etc.

Is CEX the option with the least hassle ?

    Yeah, probably...

.. although really awful trade in rates for it. I'd probably sell it on Adverts / DoneDeal if you can.

There's probably one or two other things the Shield can do that you'll use a couple of times a year but ya you're probably set with the Roku. Might as well hold off until you need to update and by then they'll probably have things that beam it directly to our brains :D

Your best bet would be Adverts. I've sold a couple on there for fair prices. Unless you have any friends or family interested.

My Netflix button now has 3 actions assigned:)

How is this working out for you? I find the double tap and long press functions also activates the single tap action too, regardless of how long I set the delay to be. The long press also adjusts the volume too for some reason

    Perfectly TBH.
Delay is set to default and not had any issue at all.

Does anyone have any problems with the new rte player on the shield.

Rte player was working fine until I updated the software on the shield

The Rte player barely works on any platform and the app is a piece of sh1t. Clearing data for the app fixes it until the next time you want to watch something

Got the new remote today, much better than old one. Being able to remap the Netflix button is excellent. 1 tap IPTV, 2 tap Netflix, long press prime video.

Has anyone remapped the other buttons to anything useful?

In case it helps others, I needed to map the single tap button to open Netflix, rather than using the default action.

    Got the new remote too.
It is so much better than the 2017 version, good feel in hand even with the unusual shape.

It just works instantly like a remote should where as the old one is so flaky.
Don't know if its bad BT connection & some sort of sleep mode.

Have a spare and virtually unused 2015 Shield Gamepad that I have no use for.
Have 3 shields only game on 1 and only need 2 pads ;)

Will let it go to a new home here for €40 shipped or €35 collected in Limerick if anyone has any interest?

    And it's gone!

Hope the new owner has plenty of craic with it.

Ah FFS, the new remotes showed to be back in stock earlier this morning (about 11ish) added one to basket, went to checkout, couldn't remember my Nvidia password, went to checkout as a guest, phone went bananas with work, put the credit card details in and then the feckin system tells me the remote was out of stock.

I'd contact them. They ship from Ireland, mine took no time at all.

The best part of the new remote for me is I can finally use the IR to control the volume of my AV receiver.

The old remote could do it sure, but the slide volume control was so crap that you'd be sliding for ages before anything would happen. Now with the buttons I've enabled volume control and now there's just one volume to worry about, the one on the receiver.

Yeah same problem for me , no sign of it

Just spoke with customer service . They have to contact parcel force and it could be 48 hours before they get back to me .
Not impressed with this at all - ordered on the 18th FEB

I dunno, my original remote developed a bit of a problem a while back, and I have to say that I found their cs pretty much flawless tbh, arranged to collect the remote from my office - fully tracked to Holland, and an email to confirm technicians had it and were working on it, and a follow up email to say they were sending me a replacement.

Had the replacement in a few days, don't recall now, but if I recall correctly, all less than a week

I was farily happy with their service, and i hope I haven't just jinxed myself having just ordered the new remote last night. :pac:
