Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wouldn't have thought so..

.. there is an area under Prime where you can click 'Notify Me' on items though

No. Was definitely "attempted delivery" at 3am. I was just surprised of the notification as I wasn't expecting it till during the week.

Mis scanned , probably arrived with an post at 3am

I've found that you need to view an item that you are interested in first.

Then you need to go back to the Notify section within the Amazon Prime Day section and find your recently viewed item and then click notify

It is awkward. You would imagine that they would have a Notify Button on all items throughout the site.

Looking at picking up a philips airfryer as gift for family member. Would there be much chance of it being on offer or will I have to wait till black friday to get a decent discount on them.

There are no deliveries at 3am ,pm? There is a country wide parcel delivery today and next Saturday by an post, rural and city.

Why? What's special about this weekend and next?

Not sale related but ordered an item on Thur. Said it would be delivered Tuesday. But woke to a notification that An Post attempted delivery at 3.05am and will try again. Nothing in the letter box to say they tried which I doubt they did. Strange though.

Happened me today, was at 9.30am but an post def didn't try deliver anything

As said, coupled with a huge surge at the hint of level 5 ,prime day would mean a Monday where all parcels may not fit in vans,so Saturday required, rare enough for rural areas, common for cities.

Building a new house, should be ready by early January... first fixings starting start of November... Anyone got any good suggestions to get from an electrical / technology perspective?

Surround sound, WiFi enhancer, alarm system... etc???

Lots of plugs. Double sockets with USB ports and then wire the house with cat 5e cables so you have wired internet in every room.

I just installed eero I have each one wired in and now have 140mb WiFi in every corner of the house and most bigger devices are plugged directly into ports.

We were asked yesterday if we wanted to work today, Amazon told An post to expect a large volume of parcels this week.

Lads when ordering on Amazon don't forget to tick the Add Voucher Box.

Many products will have Vouchers that will be auto added at checkout once you select it.

Any ideas why Amazon.de will post some stuff to UK a non EU member but won't post to Ireland, a full EU member. I recently had to have a parcel sent to Parcel Wizard for delivery to me.

Bought something a few months ago from de direct that UK wouldn't sell to me. DE sent it free by DHL

With the likely sale of them impending, any idea which versions of the fire stick fully work here? I got a fire stick years ago and while other apps are fine, the actual Prime Video app only works if you have a UK account, otherwise it gives you a region error. Think I read that the 4k version of the stick has the same issue, but not 100% sure. Could anyone confirm?

I don't want to swap to a UK Prime Video account, but would like 4k obviously...

I have the 4k and prime video works fine. I had a few issues at the start when I was trying to play videos from the home screen, tried clearing data and cache nothing worked. Then realised it worked when I actually went into the app as opposed to trying to play videos from the home screen, if that makes sense.

The home screen launches the UK version which don't work if it's in Ireland.

And you are on an Irish Prime Video account, not UK? No matter what I did with my old fire stick, it refused to play from my Irish account, gave me the region error every time.

I think so yes, I don't use a vpn anyway. And given what the previous poster said about the home screen defaulting to UK prime I think I must be irish as prime doesn't work for me from the home screen

Thread here on fire stick error

Thanks, but from reading that thread it still seems to indicate that you need to have your account set to the UK. I went through that whole rigmarole a year or two ago and they switched my account over to the UK version (without telling me thats what they were doing) and then it worked fine through the stick, but I wanted to remain on the Irish version so I swapped back.

If thats the only way for it to work, I'll just avoid it for now.
Still find it bizarre that they essentially region-lock their own app on their own device. You'd have thought their app would be region agnostic!

But appreciate the replies from everyone! :)

Guys an early one if it hasn’t been posted already.

Kindle Paperwhite can be got for £79.99 (£80.99 vat adjusted)if ordered through Alexa. A nice saving.

If you don’t have an Alexa device just download the app on your phone and order though that.

Are you a Prime member? Also it will show up as £120 in your basket. The deduction should be taken when you go to check out.

If I try this it defaults to ordering from the US and I can't find the setting. Anyone happen to know how to fix that? Got a UK prime account but no Alexa devices

I tried with the echo show and there's a discount just before payment. Appears full price through the other screens

Is there an advantage to being on the Irish version over the UK one preventing you from moving?

Content-wise there is more on the UK one, but the majority of stuff is now available on the Irish version.
What put me off sticking with the UK one (when their customer support moved me over) was the way the main page gets inundated with titles that you can only rent or buy. The Irish version only shows you stuff you can actually stream.
Also, I was afraid that Amazon would eventually boot us off the UK version and then I'd be back to square one as far as the Fire Stick was concerned.

But sorry for derailing the thread with Fire Stick talk. Back to bargains :)

Lightening Deal. Deal ends in 4hrs, 25% claimed so far

    Mpow H19 Headphones(Upgraded Version)
    100hrs playback versus 30hrs H12
    CVC 8.0 versus CVC 6.0

£59.99 with £15 voucher off at checkout so £45 total

Works out at as same price as H12.

Better Spec sheet below is from Amazon.ca. Order from Amazon.uk

How do you set it to Ireland?

  • Registered Users Posts: 520 ✭✭✭Full_Circle_81

How do you set it to Ireland?

Do you mean the account or the fire stick?
By default, your account is probably already set to Ireland. Usually a customer service agent has to switch it to a UK account.

But just wanted to say that, after all the comments people here had made earlier, I plugged the fire stick back in today (first time in ages) and just like that, the Amazon Prime Video app does indeed play fine now on the stick. No more region errors! I'm in shock. The app even updated to the latest version which allows for profiles, which is even more handy.

Thanks again to those who insisted that it was working and sorry for doubting the claims!

I just ordered the fire hd tablet. Alexy told me the savings and that it would come to £45, then gave me the option to add to my basket where I can go review the order before finalising on PC or I could tell her to buy it now. I chose the buy it now option and it worked.

Not some much what bulbs to get, would be more looking at the SmartThings hub which means that you'll be able to use a multitude of different brands. Can then look at getting whatever is cheap at the time
