Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Rumours on twitter that Xbox is going the PS route with no Live needed for F2P games and that Live subs are bein done away with altogether

Saw this on Reddit: Microsoft has started to migrate the Xbox 360 storefront onto the standard Xbox One version. No idea why it's taken them an entire generation to do it, but you can now buy some 360 games without needing to click a "see price" button and getting brought to a website that web design has left behind for close to ten years. So far it's only on a very few, but seriously, it's about time.

I hope it doesn't portend some kind of end to 360 support though.

Apparently it does. Haven't tried it out myself, but this is one of the improvements alright.

Anyone using a google hub/nest etc with their xbox? Is there any way to navigate the screen like you use to on the kinect? The example being selections would be numbered so you could chose 1, 2, 3? And the early days of compatibility with netflix?

Seems very limited as it is currently

I'm not sure about the Google Hub/Nest but I use my Alexa to switch the Xbox on and off as well as opening apps or games. It seems to work much like the Kinect In that I say Alexa Go Home or Alex open Grand Theft Auto and it does the job though being a bit of a nerd I've put a command in that whenever I say Execute Order 66 it replies with "As you command" and switches off the Xbox and My TV. I never get tired of saying that 😂

Something that has annoyed me since lockdown began and people including myself have been working from home is the windows 10 xbox integration by default reporting me as being online while not doing anything even remotely game related. PC icon + online during the day = a person working from home when you view the friends list on an xbox or phone app.

You can switch status to offline but not set it as default you have to disable it from startup to stop it which causes craziness with it when you enable it again via win + g

Apple block Microsoft launching xCloud on their devices. In essence it's down to Apple not being able to review each individual game released on the service. People are saying what about Netflix, Spotify, Prime etc but Apples response is that they're not interactive unlike games.

I thought there was some interactive movies on Netflix.
I know that Kimmy Schmidt movie is but am sure there was some popular series that made an interactive episode

I bought an iPad pro last year after years of saying I'd never buy an iOS device, and have to admit I absolutely love it. But that right there is the reason I've never owned an iPhone. Fúck Apple.

I've been streaming the Xbox one to the iPad using onecast and it works brilliantly, was really looking forward to the launch of xcloud. That is some fúcking nonsense though.

My iPad is on it’s last legs. Time to move on methinks!

Was there a summer sale this year? I can't remember if there was one or not.

Pretty sure that there was, but then again, it could have been some other kind of big sale. This entire year has blended into one, to be honest, feels like it could be Easter, Christmas, or Halloween at any stage, in any order.

Do you have to be near the Xbox with controller still connected to Xbox ?

Theres a huge summer sale on 560 games from tomorrow for 10 days. Chances are most of the offers will be live tonight. Here's a preview from the New Zealand store

Couple of questions if I may. Is the Elite controller as good as it's price suggests it should be, and will it be compatible with the new Xbox coming out?

Thinking about getting one for my son's 16th combined birthday/ chr*#+'as present but am reluctant if he's going to need to upgrade when we eventually get the new Xbox. Cheers.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I have the first gen one a few years now and find it pretty good. Not so great that it would make me go out and buy the new one but this one still works so maybe if it broke I may do that but tbh I would just look for old stock some where of the fist gen if it was going cheap.

Have the first gen as well, great pad. The current second gen one is problematic though with a high failure rate due to broken buttons and severe drift in the sticks.

That's the reason stock of the 2nd gen has been virtually non existent since launch.

Lads, i sow that next gen xbox thread is pure **** show, I tried to ask my question there, but I think it got lost in a handbag and high heel battle. So ill try here.

Does anyone preordering new xbox already? Or is it a bit too early?

No one is taking preorders yet. GameStop are charging to "register your interest" that can be converted to an order once they begin.

Any point going and putting down a few quid now for xbox? I remember back in the day, when I preordered ps4, they had already about 30 preorders and only got 20 in, so first ones who preordered got it, the others waited second batch. And it was a small town. Now i am in Limerick, so surely more people will be looking for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 893 ✭✭✭Fuzzy Logic

No harm in doing it. I decided on the day to put the deposit down on both consoles

You can pay it off over a period of time which is good and also go in a list of guarenteed. I am just sending 35 a week into a revolut vault to pay for the excess after a trade in deal.

Controller to the Xbox. I haven't tried connecting the controller to the iPad (which is supported) but I suspect that would cause some issues.

I got the same app for MacOS (at twice the price) and it's rubbish, avoid.

I actually tried it by pairing the controller to the iPad there. No noticeable lag, works pretty well. The only thing is the start, back and Xbox buttons aren't mapped, you have to press start to bring up this toolbar in the app which then lets you choose start/back/menu. It's a little annoying but you get used to it fairly quick.

They're a Maryland publisher most known for their rpg games, but have diversified in the last decade or so setting up new studios and acquiring ID. Their games include:

Doom, Wolfenstein, Skyrim, Dishonored, Prey, RAGE, Fallout.

Uplay+ whatever their own subscription is called. I can see it making its way either in time for Chrimbo or in the new year. If MS do get it on the Gamepass would be a big coup; all the FIFA/Battlefield/StarWars/NFS games, all the Elder Scrolls/Fallout/Doom games and then all the Assassins Creed/Watch Dogs/Tom Clancy/Anno on PC/FarCry/Division games alongside MS's own offerings and whatever 3rd parties are also on there.

Would make Gamepass go from one of the best gaming deals going to...I cant even think what.....vital? Essential?

yet you'll still have all the playstation heads say they aren't interested in any of the games made by those companies!

Anyone know why the Series S isn't shipping to Ireland on Amazon UK?

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08GD9MNZB

CBA with a parcelmotel as that'll take even longer.

Last time I used DPD ParcelWizard, my €800 PC graphics card got lost for two weeks up north, and when it finally arrived it looked like it had sat in a puddle for a week.

Got an order in on the Irish Microsoft store no problem.

Problem with Amazon via parcel motel etc is returning items. I tried to return some PC gear recently and my only options were to bring the items to a UK\NI drop off outlet with no option to return by post.

Call me old fashioned, but I'll always pay a premium to be able to walk into a shop and hand stuff back there and then.
