I was watching one earlier and anytime they found a gun, they called the Police. They always came along and took the guns away in an evidence bag. If they wanted the guns back they could claim them after they had been tested. But in fairness a lot of what was found should have been left where it was. Junky old Rohm .22 revolvers, blankfirers, etc.

Talking about revolvers on another thread, anyone remember this gobshine from years ago, i used to watch it, but like Baywatch it was mainly for the opening credits

According to the know-alls in the Sunday papers, both ff and fg are getting a kicking in the polls, over the glacial pace of the vaccine roll-out. If they don't get their finger out we'll all have prison pallor before we get the jab.
They're doing 40,000 or so per month at the moment.

The announcement was they intend to up that to have 1.2 million done by the end of March. That means (if you take the 350,000 already done) they have 900,000 to do in 31 days. Thats 30,000 per day from 40000 per month.

Then 1 million per month over April, May and June.

Be great if they do it, but i don't see how they can do such a huge jump.

Maybe they'll start bleeping the "no no" words or try to cancel the actors:D reminds me of when Fairytale of New York got taken off the radio. The absolute idiocy of political correctness. Even a couple of history channels on YouTube I'm fond of are getting demonetized. Hopefully they don't see my bookshelf with my WW2 books:D

Yeah its incredible what people will use as weapons, I saw a documentary on the Libyan civil war and they strapped a gun from a plane to it, similar to the last image.

A German charged with supplying the Russians with the floor plans of the Bundestag. You would think the russki's would have made a note of the floor plans back in the 40's.

It's changed somewhat since April 1945.:D:D
We did a bit of renovating and DIY in the meantime, but left all the Russian and Allied grafitti and" Kilroy was here" stuff up on the walls as historical shreds of evidence. Think these would be morei interesting plans of the off-limits areas underneath the main floor plans that you can get free online or in the main lobby.

But it wont happen...Because guess why???....MONEY!!! The GPs are getting 30 quid an arm from the govt to do these vaccs and the excuse is of course "refrigeration and distribution. Or more like whatever our EUSSR overlords are rationing us out.

Plan is for a workforce of around 2000 qualified vaccinators in addition to GP's, hospitals & clinics. Closing date for applications is tomorrow.
    Logisitics are already in hand.

Not sure how you're getting EUSSR overlord rant out of this.

Two years suspended and the one year of "prison" will actually be house arrest with monitor. So not exactly prison.

Not sure what mean? This is happening, people are being recruited currently. It's in line with the timescale for arrival of enough vaccine to need the extra staff.

I know in our village that the over 85's got their first jab last Tuesday.

We're very lucky with the new GP we have had for the last few years, he's a true gentleman that makes time for everyone.

Our previous two GP's a married couple that he replaced on their retirement were both outside the surgery all day Tuesday as was the local pharmacist. They just chatted with the folks while they were waiting their turn after answering any and all questions and reassuring them that all was good.

There was no financial gain involved and no directions from imaginary overlords, just ordinary people helping others because they could and they wanted to.

And like plans could not have been made in the last 9/11 months to get this recruitment drive in operation for when the vacc was ready to be rolled out??? Put people in place to roll once the vacc hit the ground to be ready to roll once they get a txt message?

I get the EUSSR rant simply because our spineless lot will swallow any ol sht the EU Soviet tells them to do. We could be buying the stuff off the UK,who are now almost half done with theirs since they got out from this micromanaging superstate we seem to all still love for some reason.
But that would take leadership and responsibility, something NO Irish politician has shown since Lemass, as it is easier to just pretend to be in power and collect the cheques, while grownups make decisions FOR us in Brussels.

I think your underestimating how much is actually ready. I got a look at the planning lately and was actually fairly impressed - not something I say often about the HSE. I think the recruitment pace isn't too far wrong either. This is all for people who already have the qualifications, so doesn't need a mad lead time. I've stuck my own name in just in case they run low on numbers- all I'd have to do training-wise is some online modules on the vaccines being used and a skills refresher to make sure I have a notion where to stick the needle.

The UK did get a headstart on the EU by about 2 months, but they did it by taking some pretty big chances on vaccine approval and dose sequencing. It's worked out well for them and fair play - but personally I'm OK with having the vaccines carefully approved. It's interesting seeing how the public in places like Hungary and Czech Republic don't seem to be delighted by the idea of taking the Russian vaccine which their governments are buying outside the EU approval system.

Have the UK actually offered to sell us any of their stock?

What qualifications are needed to give jabs ? They have soldiers doing it in the UK , doesn't seem to be causing problems.

You essentially have to be a registered practitioner here in one of the listed groups i.e. doctors, nurses, physios, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, EMT, paramedic or advanced paramedic. All groups who would already have the training on giving IM injections and the legal ability to do so.

I'm guessing the brits were using army medics rather than just Pvt. Bloggs from the 2nd Foot & Mouth regiment?

IOW any of those who have the legal ability to "break skin"?

Germany is using its entire medical corps for this as well, even those who have apparently doused themselves with the training anti NBC atropine injector are considered qualified to admin this,or so the scuttlebutt is going round.
