Absolutely outstanding entertainment in the Intermediate final. Can't help but feel delighted for the bould Tommy Walsh.

Tremendous game. Shame there had to be a loser. Thought the 65 call for Tullaroan's second last point was very harsh.

Well done to Conahy and Tullaroan today, Intermediate final was savage exciting.. delighted for Tullaroan but comisserations to Fr O'Neills, that's a tough one to lose.

Well the umpire from where he was couldn't have seen whether the ball was over the end line. It was close but no way he could have made the call. He was behind the Fr O Neil's player.

Never affiliated with a club (I'll support any Waterford team) but I'm amazed the passion of it. This victory means so much to the Walsh's and there Liam McCarthy wins are almost an after thought

Well it’s not surprising that it means that much to them. The gaa top brass may concentrate on the inter-county teams(and they should) but without clubs there can’t be inter county teams.

Jesus I hate the 3 cheers stuff but imagine it would be less smug giving theres no real rivalry between clubs from different counties
it's nonsense, remember at an Intermediate county final a few years ago winning captain said to the losing side ' i know you don't want 3 cheers so I'll just ask everyone to give you a round of applause for your efforts today and for the year' taught it was a nice touch.

I have to say I think its incredibly unfair on Fr O'Neills to have to travel to Dublin for a 6pm throw in. Insane scheduling. Sure they won't be back in Cork for potential celebrations till almost 11pm FFS by the time they get out of Croker
unfortunately sometimes gaa key decisions makers and common sense are 2 separate entities.

Absolutely outstanding entertainment in the Intermediate final. Can't help but feel delighted for the bould Tommy Walsh.

I viewed an absolutely lovely photograph of Mickey Walsh and his four sons in celebration after the match.

In one it indicates truly what the GAA is all about.

Weather and Croker won't suit Borrisoleigh today. Need to hang in there for as long as possible. Extremely fit so that could be their best weapon late in the game. JD Devaney will suit Croker. Tough ask but I wouldn't rule them out.

Absolutely, similar enough today with Dan Mccormack and his 3 brothers.

The Club Finals have been played in Croke Park for years. It's a major occasion for those taking part and I imagine most, if not all, clubs are thrilled with the opportunity to play there. Perhaps the supporters in attendance felt different afterwards about the venue but they were buzzing with excitement beforehand. And I'd say the players felt the same and would be only too delighted to return to Croke Park for the Finals next year if they get the chance.

For the Shamrocks - 4 Mullen brothers and their two cousins Michael and Colin Fennelly. Two Reids, TJ and Richie. Two Codys and their cousin Evan Shefflin with their Uncle Henry as Manager. And 2 Butler brothers. Some family connections but that's what you get with the small parish.

Don't forget Eoin Reid... brother of TJ and Richie.

    Of course!

What about the Kilcoo? The starting fifteen seems to be dominated by only a few surnames. Five Branagan brothers anyway and a few Johnstones among others.

Always my favourite time of year seeing the "band of brothers" stylings of the smaller clubs :D

What is the big GAA games for St Patricks Day now that they've moved this fixture, are they trying to bring back The Railway Cup?

Branagans and Johnston’s are cousins as well! There was a double header in Ulster few years ago, Kilcoo in the senior tie and Aghagallon in the intermediate tie. There were Branagans on both teams (all related). 7 or 8 cousins playing for the two clubs

Mullen should have stayed down for about 5 minutes a la Barrett

that McCormack yellow looks a lot worse on replay. Borris need to cut out the constant fouling

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,023 ✭✭✭✭Joe_ Public

Dan and brendan on yellows. Little bit concerning for borris.

Ballyhale looking like the better team here.
Borris should be a man down - was a very clear red in my opinion.
