Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    * The whole front of the site will remain devoted to 2 dozen car parking spaces. Here is the chance to put parking underground where it belongs.
Good point. Retaining the car park as is, is just silly. It would be great to maximise the civic space.

new Cafe opening shortly beside Rothar....

Popped in at the weekend , was very busy
Premises are quite cramped and as its very busy was not very relaxing

Food though was top notch and reasonably priced .
    A huge pot of tea
they should upgrade the sausage with the brekkie
    Good real lovely bacon rasher

Snapjack desert thingy was gorgeous , scone was lovely

A lot of couples with young children and nowadays they can be quite rude and difficult to share a space with , That is a Phibsboro reality though and cant blame Kennedy's as such

Popped in too early last Saturday morning. Tiny, nabbed the window seat! Reasonably priced, scones were delicious. Very friendly too and feels welcoming. My favourite is still Bang Bang, not a huge Two Boys Brew fan but I do get my coffee beans there so I do like it in the area!

    They have a temporary website - http://botanichouse.ie/

Looks like they will have a seafood restaurant run by the people that own aqua in howth.

    Doyles has reopened.

Does anyone have any idea of what will open opposite Doyle’s? Heard rumours of a restaurant?

I guess they are prioritising filling in empty space on the map.

Are there any Dublin bikes at luas stops?

Planning permission granted for change of use to a restaurant called 'Loretta's'.

Planning files 3383/17 & 4605/17 can be viewed on the council website.

had a few drinks in Doyles on saturday, very quiet really, 6e for premium gins and tonics was great value. Some singer guy doing covers was a bit annoying though.

It's beside Cumiskys pub at the very top (bottom?) of Upper Dominick St, 30 second walk from the Broadstone Luas stop

    https://jays.ie/

Had a coffee in it last week, lovely spot and great staff

I just wish it was demolished and rebuilt. It’s a vile early 70s eyesore with no redeeming features. Same goes for Phibsboro shopping Centre.

Attached link shows what will be replacing the old Motor Tax office. It's being demolished and a new hotel going up. Marked improvement for the area definitely and perfect location on the Luas stop also for tourists etc.

Did that get planning..i thought the locals had concerns?
It looks like existing building reworked rather than demolished?

If your talking about the old AIB bank site , I believe it is a Pressup group establishment .
Which will mean Cool design , modern concept , slightly over priced .

There's still no movement on the shopping centre redevelopment. The stadium could be the same, just lip service.

Applied for planning permission on the 4th of April 2017, granted by Dublin City Council on the 24th of October 2017. Applied to An Bord Pleanála and finally granted permission on the 21st of August 2018. It took 16 months.

However Hedigans is getting v run down..from awful food to crap decor and poor staffing I fear it could be a deliberate move...
We also have a new wood fired pizza joint opening in old Subway outlet.
And Legit coffee opened recently opposite library..
It's all happening in the 27th coolest neighbour hood in the World ðŸ˜

That’s great to hear about botanic house. Will make a trip there soon. The bald eagle did great food also when I made a visit there recently.

Shame about hedigans. The last time I was there the food was decent enough and well priced. But that’s a long time ago.

Have eaten in the Botanic House 3 times now since it reopened. The first time I was fairly unimpressed but they hadn't sorted out their menu really. The subsequent 2 times have been very good.

I'm also delighted the Greek place is back open, it was closed for a month or more there.

the Greek place has changed the menu since the reopening and some classic Greek dishes are no longer offered. seems it has gone more on the takeaway/delivery side than restaurant which is a pity. Still good option to have in the area though

Does any1 have some insight on that empty commercial/office space between Camille and the new Rua pizzeria.? Planning permission for some new yoga place appeared and vanished about 18 months ago or so. Just wondering why nobody does anything there as it would seem as an excellent location in terms of footfall and exposure...?!

    That fell through AFAIK...
I think that whole block could be levelled and a multi story block built there...apartments not student accom..

Went in on a Sunday in Doyle's Corner a couple weeks ago for their 7 euro sandwich - got the brisket with blue cheese slaw and it was an almighty feast. Got a side of the soup as well and shared fries (3 each). 2 quid for a soft drink with it so I have to say the value was excellent but would ave even paid more for that monster of a sandwich.
