Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No, weights couldn’t be inputted on ICBF after 12 midnight last night which i think is unfair on farmers who weighed in the last few days.
It doesn’t affect me but a neighbour of mine got caught out, he thought he had a week to put in the weights the same as people who weighed earlier had.

He still can. Just click on record events tab and 'Live Weights'. Enter them there but make sure to put date of weighing before 1st of November.

I don’t think the system will let you do that now.

Thats what i dont understand. How have lads waited till the very end to actually do the tasks when they new fully what & when things needed to be done by!!

Everyone's situation is different, I choose to leave the last batch till the last minute as they were on an out farm too far away to bring in to weigh earlier. It was much easier to get the help once, so brought in weighed and housed in the same day it was the most time efficient way for me.

As for entering weights I just weighed and entered weights directly into mobile app as I weighed them.

The BEEP-S section can tell me where I rented the scales from & on what date, if his shows that, surely they'll accept the posted version as they were weighed before the cut off date.

    Mobile app says this now.

RECORDING FOR BEEP 2020 CLOSED AT 12PM ON 1ST NOVEMBER 2020

Think Lady Haywires solution is the only option now for anyone who didn't enter weights on time.

Just received this email from herdwatch tonight!

    Hi xxxx

We just wanted to let you know that you must submit your programme action sheets for the Beep-S scheme to the Department this week.

You should have already received them by post over the past few days and they must be completed and received by November 6 in order to qualify for the full payment. If you have not received them yet, we have attached both record forms to this email.

I scanned & emailed the meal receipts in with the form filled out with date started feeding, all dates & invoices numbers for the meal purchases, weaning dates for different groups. From the meal purchases and dates they can easily see my 19 calves were eating ~25kg a day meal on average over the since end of July

I sold 8 weanlings a few weeks ago but didn't include it as it not asked in my case as the letter i received on requested the above information and that they would be checking data on Agfood too.

Is Herdwatch a government authorised agency tasked with issuing instructions.

I downloaded the T&C again this morning:

9.6 Each applicant must maintain a record to demonstrate the completion of the actions chosen for the Programme.

The Department will supplement compliance inspections with Administrative Control checks whereby a percentage of farmers will be required to submit their records and associated documentation to the Department upon request at various times in the programme year. These records will be examined as a means of checking compliance with actions. It is a requirement of the Programme that the applicant must fully comply with such request to submit information to the Department.

Failure to produce or forward the records when requested will be a breach of the programme obligations and will result in no payments for the relevant year and a 50% administrative penalty based on the overall amount which would have been payable in the year for that action will be imposed.

9.7 BEEP-S participants will not be eligible for payment under the Suckler Health and Welfare Top Up unless they carry out the BEEP-S requirements in full.

Ya I rang teagasc advisor he said herdwatch may have jumped the gun with the email . He said only fill out if you receive a letter in the post

Did anyone receive a letter by post yet .

    Hi John,

I have to apologise for my previous email as it contained incorrect information.

If you have not received a programme action sheet from the Department in the past few days then you do not have to take any further action and can disregard my previous email.

However you must still ensure that you keep a record of the actions required for your own records and inspection purposes. (i.e. Weaning and Meal Feeding or Vaccination)

    Apologies for the confusion,

    All the best,

    James

Bovipast RSP covers Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) among others listed. Hope that helps, as we used the RSP vaccine also.

I left dung samples in Oldcastle lab on the the 30 November.
Results were emailed to me there on Friday 13th.
    Positive for liver fluke.
    Negative for rumen fluke.

I got the same results but would not put to much faith in the results as there were 2 weeks before they were tested. Got them tested in local vets as I do every year and all came back negative. I will test again after Christmas. Have not done cows for fluke in 3 years now.

According to a circular send by DAFM in August - BDGP, Organic Farming Scheme (advance payment), BEEP (Suckler), balancing payments under the ANC and Protein Aid will be paid in December 2020.

Is there likely to be a second iteration / continuation of the BDGP scheme, you'd imagine there is too much money invested in it to leave it off now? Suprised not to have heard anything about a new one yet

It would want to be drastically simplified and imo would need to be matched by some sort of scheme for dairy cross calves as thats where the future of beef is headed unfortunately.
