Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As if this night in cork city couldn't get sadder, some idiots came into my garden and knocked my snowman, just saw them do it and all. took the hat too.

    Pup's...

I bet they're from lovers walk lol

Power flicked off here in D14 for about 10 seconds, back on now though.

This is why people wanted so much bread and milk! No cooking required, throw a slice of cheese and/or ham on buttered bread (+Taytos) and a glass of milk. Sure you'd be able to climb Croagh Patrick after that!

I was clever though, I got extra Weetabix and loverly yogurts too. Sorted. I will not starve if the power goes.

Have a little battery radio too for the apocalyptic news, and some torches, powerbanks etc.

I am so organised that I probably won't need any of it!

Hope you will all be ok out there.

A power cut has just happened in Blackrock in Dublin in the past 5 minutes. Inside & outside everything is gone. This is in the Netownpark Avenue area.

Yup, all balmy and spring-like, it's like Barbados here in D15.

in Tallaght Dublin just went out the front for a smoke
Have at least 10 inches of snow in the garden drifts of up to 3 feet in exposed places
not much snow more so its being blown up still a little icy rain.
the roads in the estate are in rag order up to 8 inches deep in parts.
if it gets worse I can see a lot of places cut off for a few days.

Power outages all over the shop. This is definitely one we won't forget in a hurry.

On a side note: drifts are now way above the level of the front and back doors. Incredible stuff.

In excess of 5 inches of snow in places here in West Clare, amazing! Most I've seen in my lifetime.

Fairly coming down in Clondalkin. I cleared this area with shovel and yard brush at 5pm so it's not even a days accumulation. Crazy.

I called it rain earlier. I was wrong and I admit that now. Dublin 18 is under a lot of snow. A lot

    It's lovely isn't it!

The differences across Dublin are amazing. Coastal area here and not much happening.

    Where exactly are you?

I'm not far from the coast in Santry. What you are basically saying it's like a different planet?

    Did you check the accumulations?

View from the top of Liberty Hall. Seems to be a widespread power out in the city centre, only things not effected seem to be buildings with their own backup generators and street lights.

It would be more useful if people could provide information on the accumulations rather than snow type.

Here it's mounting up. Still relatively fine snow though.
Winds but thats the height of it in the midlands. Zero snow, just a lot of the current snow being blown around by the winds

Love having two open fireplaces and a load of wood in the back garden.

Sacrifice a pot and cook away. Hope this goes on for a while. Come on powercut.
    Do your worst.

Almost annoyed we still have power in d7

I'd definitely sacrifice a pot and teapot.

This is insane. From whatsapp and here it appears most if not all of Dublin is now out of power.

Its not. Not had so much as a flicker of the lights in Dublin 6. I hate these sort of posts (no offence).

The is no snow/power is out in my street so the whole country is the same.

Since you mentioned it, does anyone know where the streetlights get power when everything else is gone?

The conspiracy theorists will say the Government organised this power outage in CC to ensure that their RED alerts were warranted or something. Sigh.

We had a foot and a half here in 2010, north Kildare, but this is on a whole other level in terms of intensity/ferocity (over a foot now already), It’s absolutely mental out! Proper flakes now mixing with the snizz. The drifting in my back garden is insane! Thanks for listening.

Alarms ringing everywhere in Ringsend, the entire surrounding area has been plunged into darkness. Only the 3 Arena lights appear to be on. Still snowing like mad.

Not complaining or anything, coz tonights has been incredible in D15, whole week really.
But... is the whiteout blizzard snow on the way, or is it leaba time?

Ballinclea Heights, Killiney Hill, Wyvern, power went out about 15 minutes ago, I can see two or three very faint street lights down towards Sallynoggin, but that's about it.

Power back, as I type, hooray!

[blows kisses and hugs wall socket]
