    England +3
    Ireland -6.5
    Wales to win by 11-20

    Accum pays approx 10/1

    Edit:
Also trimble first try scorer @ 10/1

France are amazing value @ 3-1 for the outright

with Ireland and England at home

Wales away are difficult but I think Wales will already have lost to Ireland and England

Never backed unfortunately. Both beat the handicaps but the Perpignan one shifted and Toulouse's team sheet put me off. Nevertheless, up to 47.4.

1 unit on France to win 1.74. Might take Ireland -12 as the weather is meant to dry up. Still meant to be extremely windy though, anyone know how windy the Aviva gets in these situations?

Fofana 150/1 score a hat trick with Ladbrokes may as well get price going.

Like Wales to be top points scorer this weekend @11/8 in Ladbrokes
France- England should be tight enough.
Ireland Scotland weather could be poor pitch will definitely be heavy.

Wales should hammer italians hop ethe roof is on keep the dirty weather out

That's actually very good. Wish I had a Ladbrokes account. Not a chance France/England will be top so it's essentially a 2 horse race and the bookies are favouring Wales by 8 more than they're favouring Ireland.

Looking at 7/1 for the handicap treble:

    Ireland -12 Evens
    France -3 Evens

    and

    Italy + 20 Evens

Reckon Ireland will account for Scotland pretty handily (only worry would be if the weather turned nasty)

Think France will be too good for England in Paris

Italy always start well, and are improving year on year (and if the after Lions tour effect applies to France doing well then why not Italy) and last year, Wales got off to a slow start. Still think Wales will win but not by more than 20

48.14 now. Hate to have backed the -3 :p.

    1 unit on Ireland -12.5 1.96.

Today was a pretty good day.

2 units on France -3 didnt pay off
2 units on Wales -20 didnt pay off

1 unit on Cuthbert at 6-1 as first try scorer was good (7 units returned)
1 unit on Huget at 11-1 as first try scorer was good and the odds were doubled as he scored a 2nd try (23 units returned)

    Tomorrow I'm going
    2 units on Ireland -12
1 unit on Cian Healy for first try scorer at 18-1
1/2 unit on Johnny Sexton to hit a penalty, conversion and DG at 14-1

Not doing the whole units thing but I have the following rugby bets laid:

    Ireland -12 @evens
    Ireland > 2.5 Tries @8/11
    Conor Murray Anytime Tryscorer @16/5

    and

    Ireland > 9.5 Tries in Tournament @5/6
Conor Murray Ireland's Top Tryscorer in Tournament @25/1

I've put a lot less on the two Conor Murray ones compared to the others but they have a bigger reward. I reckon he's a decent shout at being our top tryscorer in the tournament... he likes to snipe around the fringes, and we don't really have top-class wings... and the ones who start tomorrow may not be starting by the end. I could easily see him getting 2 or 3 and that being enough.

I also think that we'll score 10 or more tries in the whole tournament, get 3 tomorrow and lay down a marker.

49.1 now, also made a lot of money by backing Scotland +24.5 on Betfair the moment I saw people were offering them at 2.2 because they thought that last try had been scored.

Trimble first try scorer at 10/1 means i doubled up for the weekend.

Murray didn't score, but the other 2 came through... fairly happy.

    Old Balance: 36.99 units

    Bets for the Weekend:

    - 3 units (10/11) France -3
    - 1 unit (evens) Ireland -12

    Open Bets:

    - 2 units (5/1) Ireland to win Six Nations Championship
    - 2 units (3/1) France to win Six Nations Championship
    - .5 units (40/1) Brice Dulin top tournament tryscorer
    - .5 units (10/1) Brice Dulin top tournament tryscorer (place part of each way bet, 4 places)

    New Balance: 27.99 units

    New Balance: 29.99 units

Very annoyed that France lost that lead but it's a good start on my outright winners front. Not the best weekend on the top tryscorer bet with Huget and Campagnaro picking up a brace each.

I'm leaning towards Scotland +10 at the moment, will wait on team news. I can see that match being a pretty dour affair at Murrayfield with England winning by less than 7.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

PP are offering 9/2 on the extremely unlikely outcome of a Scottish win on Saturday - surely worth a tenner.

Since 2000 there have been 7 Murrayfield encounters between the two sides as follows:

    2/4/00 19-13
    2/2/02 3-29
    21/2/04 13-35
    25/2/06 18-12
    8/3/08 15-9
    13/3/10 15-15
    4/2/12 6-13

Three wins apiece and 1 draw. I refused to bet on England beating the All Blacks in 2012 @ 10/1 and explained to my son that NZ couldn't lose (this ship can't sink) hence the odds....I won't make that mistake again for a long time. Time for Scotland to spoil England's dreams? :D

On a side note I think O'Mahoney at 8.5 to score in 80 is very generous; especially considering the likely style of play we'll adopt vs. Wales not to mention the conditions. It'll probably be a game for the forwards

3 units on Scotland +10 and half a unit on Scotland to win at 9/2. It sounds like the pitch will be a mess so I can't see it being high scoring.

How so? I mean most people don't win, fair enough... and most people would probably take their winnings before getting to 10k, but I know one guy who was able to do it, and I don't think he thinks it was a waste of time!

Ah its a bit of a fad, everyone knows someone who has done it, yet to see a bet slip though ha!

I'm not sure how many time you have to roll it over to get to 10k, but the chances of all those 1.10 shots coming in are not good at all. Harmless I suppose, but I would nt expect any return!

You just need extraordinary good luck... like all gambling really. You also need to have guts, which would probably rule me out :P It's a mindset thing really, because you're betting your winnings, it feels less risky, but not many people would continually put large sums for such little reward in general. But that's how you do it.

It's about 23 bets at an average of 1.3 odds, is what I've been told.

Scotland +10 @ evens - pitch is a mess, Scotland's record in murrayfield isn't the worst (apart from the odd 20 point hammering :) ). Just hope they don't give away too many penalties.

    BOD MOTM @ 12/1 - just for fun ;)

    Munster v Cardiff - Zebo anytime 7/5
Might want to prove a point to get a look in for rest of six nations.

I was going to throw something in Scotland to win, but i didn't think the odds were generous enough.

Maybe bet on total points being under in both games?

Edit: just did that, gone on accum for all 3 games to be under total points.

Gone for under in the England-Scotland game... conditions look decent in Dublin, and I don't like betting on under in matches I care about.

Leinster 13/8 to get the BP tonight, even with the weather I think that's a great bet. With the weather I think a lot of normally kickable penalties will be declined and the focus will be some 10 man rugby tries! Ulster the same!

    Old Balance: 26.99 units

    - 4 units (13/8) Leinster to get Try BP
    - 1 unit (4/6) Connacht to win
    - 1 unit (10/11) Castres +11
    - .25 units (7/1) Rory Kockott try in 80 minutes
    - .75 units (10/11) Montpellier -11
    - .5 units (10/11) Cardiff Blues to win
    - 1.5 units (5/4) Munster vs Zebre - over 5.5 tries
    - .5 units (8/13) Munster vs Zebre - over 4.5 tries

    Open Bets:

    - 2 units (7/4) Ireland to win (vs England)
    - 2 units (10/11) Ireland +5 (vs England)
    - 2 units (5/1) France to win Six Nations Championship
    - 2 units (3/1) France to win Six Nations Championship
    - .5 unit (40/1) Brice Dulin Top Six Nations tryscorer
    - .5 units (10/1) Brice Dulin Top Six Nations tryscorer place (4 places)

    New Balance: 13.49 units

Will see how I get on tonight before making any more bets tomorrow.
