Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Delighted to see Whitlock is a bit of winning form

Who would have thunk it..Smith and Whitlock unbeaten after 3 weeks.
They play each other next week..probably be a draw.

Gary vs MvG was one of the best (and quickest) darts matches I have seen in years

alot buying into the sky hype about it been 1 of the premier league classics
it will go alongside the other 863 premier league match they called classics so

it was a 10 leg game which was great to watch yes , same as about 5 or 6 players championship games each day last weeknd in wigan

In fairness I didn't see those matches in Wigan on the telly and just enjoyed the Ando v MVG game for what it was.
I defo don't need Sky to tell me I saw a cracking game but I do need Sky to put that game on tv for me to watch.

Kinda hoping Gurney gets hammered here

Jaysus can they not do something better for Cross walk-on? One week it was one of those static electric ball yokes... Now we have big ben chiming in the background.

Whole thing is boring as fcuk!

Shows how bad it is, when first game tonight had the 2 lads with 100% records, was brutal game, Whitlock was nearly an inch off some of his throws for trebles n doubles..

Poor Gary Anderson brings out the best in everyone, his games are the only exciting thing about the premier league at the moment..

Talks of it been postponed tonight due to the weather. Don’t know how they’d reschedule it but safety of fans has to be the primary concern

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

Fcuk the fans I wanted to watch the darts with a few beers while everyone is raving about snowstorms.

    Officially called off

Interesting to find out how they are going to reschedule this with relegation night only a few weeks away. Is the UK open still going ahead??

    They're saying it is anyway.

I wonder for the PL will they play a double night or maybe over two nights to make back for missing week 5.

Can't see them being able to or wanting to organise a new night/venue/ticket sales at such short notice.
Reckon they'll just have 6.30 starts over the next 3 Thursday nights to make up the 5 missed games. Two nights of 7 games and one night of 6, then it'll all back on track for Week 9.

Staying at 5 games per night up until "Judgement Night" now moved to Liverpool.

I guess the extra games per night will kick in after that.

How can they play them after judgement night? I read the article but still confused as to when the extra 5 will be played

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,982 ✭✭✭Degag

My take from the article is that they'll play 10 games on Judgement Night.

It means judgement night has been pushed back a week to Liverpool where no games were scheduled for until after relegation. The Exeter games will be played in Liverpool and they'll announce plans for after that is all sorted

Don't think the venue was availble but they could have tried to find somewhere reasonably close.

Whitlock really should of got a least a draw there

Pity Barney didn’t turn around and roar in Prices face after that bull

I think only Mensur wast throwing decent darts last night, rest really poor. I was expecting Gary to trash Gurney after UK Open final, but it didn't happen.

You can tell by the lack of posts in this thread just how uninteresting the Premier League is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Yeah, was fairly un-entertaining - although Mensur played some great stuff against Sour Puss Wright

There's a lad on Twitter does some great stat analysis if you're into that sort of thing - apparently Mensur threw 70 consecutive darts at treble 20 without hitting a 1, T1 5 or T5

It seems to get worse every year. Usually I watch it untill around now when the evenings get brighter, but I literally haven't watched 1 game this year. Roll on the finals night

i wonder what viewing figures are like
its the only darts on tv i dont want to watch

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

Hard to get accurate viewing figures these days, more people watch illegally than subscribed to sky I'd say. Poor viewing figures on sky anyway 100k most I'd say

It's a crap, glorified exhibition. Players seem uninterested and it's gone completely stale.

I'll only watch it if I stumble across it whereas I watched all of the UK Open last weekend.

I've more interest in the players championship in Barnsley this weekend

Premier League is now definitely boring, MVG, Anderson and to a lesser extent Cross, playing each other is the only games I might tune in to watch.

Maybe, some kind of a change in the format could help.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

Trebles for show as they say

Missed the Smith v Wright game but for the games I seen, was definitely one of the better nights so far.

Gurney v Whitlock was a decent game but let himself(Gurney) down at the end again with the crowd.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

yeah guerney seems to create a siege mentality in his head , not sure thats good in the long run

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,028 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Seems to be quite a bit of 'luck of the draw' in this format - Michael Smith racked up 6 handy points in the first three rounds beating people out of form (sub 90 Ave), whereas others , maybe like Gerwyn Price seem to keep meeting players when they are in form

Suppose it levels itself out after a while

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,464 ✭✭✭Ultimate Seduction

Still haven't managed to watch more than 10 minutes of it this year. Going by the thread, no one else watching it either..

Im watching it in between the evening racing at Chelmsford...pretty brutal fare...Snakebite is gone to the dogs just like this whole premier league.

  • Registered Users Posts: 648 ✭✭✭jeff bingham

Watching it myself. Anderson and Whitlock was a decent match scoring wise but Whitlock didn't really threaten I thought.
Barney saying there he didn't think Wright will turn up next week. Got another hammering tonight

I reckon him seeing cross coming out of nowhere and winning everything, while he's grafting for years and can't do much, has really ruined his confidence. Could be the Gaul stones too but that last last November

They reckon he lost a good bit of weight from it and his stance is different but like you said that was November should been sorted by now.
Keeps changing darts every week too.

In fairness he's always been changing his darts and it never effected him. Sad to see anyway because I think he deserved a big tittle, at least the premier league last year. If MvG wasn't around snakebite would have dominated darts for 2 or 3, years mad

I know he won the UK open but is that even a big one any more I don't know.
