Looking at Croghan mountain to the west from the farm here near Arklow

Is there any history to that Croghan mountain?
It is a name you see around a few places.
Are you referencing the place in Offaly?

Beautiful day here in Kerry, just got up to 13.7C but sunshine all day with a fresh clean N'ly air and Rh getting dow n to 65%, what a contrast to yesterday's grayness.

Lovely day here earlier but cloudy the last few hours although its starting to break up again.
You could even make out Venus clearly in the deep blue sky.

Didn't think the camera would focus enough to get a picture of it but it did, just about although it was clearer with the naked eye.

another nice day here in Meath, possibly the last dry day for some time to come. Currently 12C. At least we are not getting the misery that England and Wales are having today, currently struggling to get above 6C in parts of London.

Nice morning in Donegal but increasingly clouded over.

Sky at the moment reminds me of those humid thundery summer evenings we sometimes get, some interesting ragged cloud bases and different shades of grey and orange. Still dry for now though

Honestly thought that a twister was going to touch down here earlier such was the tortured black clouds that formed, but got hit by one single drop of rain instead.

    Ireland!

But speaking of twisters, this one was captured over in the States recently. Just incredible how quickly it develops from what was basically a small whirlwind.

Nice enough day in Cork City. Some very dark clouds at times but didn't rain once! When the sun was out it was very warm, then chilly when the clouds returned and then back to warm! :D

Another golden evening in this part of the west after another great spring day. The lovely calm conditions only helped to magnify the countryside chorus of birdsong. A bit of shower cloud seemed to bubble up east of here today but not a drop locally. Rain tomorrow but I have a bit of lawn seed out that will certainly welcome a drop of water. Has been a great spell overall.

Dunsany currently sitting at 8.9mm of rain for April, if we could have pulled off no rain between now and Friday, this would have been record breaking perhaps and dryer than any month in 2018, however we are for rain between now and Friday and likely to get more than 9mm's worth by then too. Still the month should finish substantially dryer than average.

horrible morning here in Meath, heavy rain and cold. The majority of the next 7 to 10 days looks like a write off as well with no shortage of rain or showers between now and the end of next week.

Tomorrow is looking possibly worse than today especially in eastern areas with temperatures struggling to make it past 6 or 7C for many tomorrow.

    GFSOPUK06_30_5.png

up to 40mm of rain is possible in places tomorrow as rain hangs around all day, particularly in eastern and some midland areas.

and this will be followed by more rain and showers on Friday and through the weekend and into next week. For now it looks like the deluges might be back.

Forecast for weekend is all over the place a few days ago it was going to be wet then a couple of days ago it was to be fine now it is forecast to be wet again...I think we most places will get at least one fine day or two from friday to sunday when we are in between the weather fronts

Bucketing down in the west and very dark too.

Bucketing down in the west and very dark too.

unfortunately plenty more of this to come. The past month of dry and mostly sunny weather has been great and was a chance for many to at least go for their 2km walks. There won't be many walking opportunities over the next week, will be watching the radar for breaks in between to plan my walks.

Dry and sunny in cork city at the moment. Ground wet when I woke up but I think rain is coming soon

Weather back to normal then, I forgot how miserable it was! Hopefully that's not the end of the nice weather this year.

Well it had to rain at some stage. This is worse day weather wise since restrictions 7 weeks ago.

We have had a great run of it. Back to drying the clothes indoors so!

Could it not just rain for a day and then go back to being nice? Looks like weeks of this crap. The restrictions feel a lot worse now!

Rain and hail in Dublin 5. We haven't really had that much rain so far today. I wasn't expecting it to be as cold as it is, temperature at around 7c.

So much for Newport having its driest April in over 60 years, over 10mm of rain so far today.

today feels as raw as a miserable afternoon in the middle of December, the roads are covered in pink blossom due to the wind, and that wind would cut you in two with the cold. Heating on at the moment and will be lighting the fire early this evening.
