Obama had 6,000 NG in 12, Trump had 8,000 in 2016 Biden has triple the numbers 21,000 now than those two presidents according to Newsweek. Nor did the previous two have to turn the city into "Bagdad on the Delaware" with Green and Red zones either.Esp with Trump and the Leftists went all wobbly and rioted as well at that event...

    To answer your question in a conventional way;
I'd put this down to the typical American overreaction to events AFTER the fact. Same as on 9/11:rolleyes:

    Can congress order the deployment?

I had to look this up and the best answer i could find was the President is in charge of the NG for Wash. DC. So did the President deploy them as an act of good faith or can congress order it, as asked above.?

The chain is Sec of the Defence and the Pentagon, specifically the secretary of the Army that authorises the use and deployment of NG? Pence was consulted about deploying it on the 6th, but it is Chris Miller's directive that activated them.
Both POTUS and VP are able to call out the NG for DC, as it isn't in a state per se. Otherwise, it would have to be the governor of Delaware requesting the call out.
Although that might change under Sniffer Joe and his loon squad wanting to add DC, Honduras, Guam to the Union. Maybe we could convince ol Sniffer to add us to the list, as he is so infatuated with all things Irish. Would solve our gun problems in an instant.:rolleyes:

The link says they are blocking Ads, not blocking the sale. The two aren't the same.

If they stop hosting ads from "Gearfire" (for example), it doesn't stop people going to www.gearfire.com and ordering away. They have no power outside of their domain.
It's a toxic site and people did thinking of it as the extent of the internet.

America is a melting pot of chaos right now. It only takes one or two lunatics to do something extreme.

The guys who brought weapons, petrol bombs etc. Obviously a handful of the crowd that rioted were involved in that, and few would have condoned it. But all it takes is one delusional guy with means to do serious damage.
Would it not be better to have it indoors, in a low key, private ceremony with only those who absolutely need to attend there?

Why run the risk of your "supporters" turning up or taking the chance of those opposed to you turning up?
Completely agree, holding it indoors is behind lock and key makes much more sense. I don't know if there is a lawful or constitutional reason why it is held outside, "under god" or some such BS.

What's the total number of security that will be there for Biden? I mean, if that's only NG. Surely they will also be SS, Police, and other agencies involved.

The Q-Shaman rioter story keeps getting weirder.
If this guy wasn't in such deep crap, he's probably have his own TV shown off the back of this. Looks like an absolutely character, although that's probably the result of some mental issues.

I initially thought he was somewhat jokingly/ironically in that get up.
But his rant in front of the camera was either impressive acting, or extreme delusion. The extreme conspiracy theory stuff. Qanon, underground bases, etc.

Refused to eat in custody. Unless is it was certified organic. Left a note for Pence with a vague threat of his time is coming.
All of that seems to be his personal problem now. But the one really interesting part is that, his lawyer is arguing, as a defence, that he was just following Trumps instructions. But at the same time they also asked Trump for a pardon. Which seems unlikely to happen given he it trying to implicate Trump in the first place.

The Trace, an anti-gun org funded by Mike Bloomberg is contacting firearms manufacturers, asking about their relationship with "Influencers" on the internet, youtube specifically, and saying that some of them, listing them by name - Iraq vet 8888 etc, supported and encouraged the raid on the whitehouse. Its all getting a bit Orwellian now.

It was said, grudgingly, on the television today, that under Trump, there was record low levels of unemployment, more black, asian and latino and white people in work, and he had cut taxes, including corporate tax. He tried to put an end to American companies moving production to the far east (probably why bill gates, musk and all the champagne socialists don't like him). He unlike most of his predecessors had started no wars or got the USA involved in armed conflicts, he didn't interfere in anything to do with the second amendment, but thats not enough it seems.

Higher Black and Hispanics voted for him than Obama and Clinton 2nd time rund...Which apparently is some kind of" inverse white rascism " in the Hispanics case according to Obama.

Unemployment hit a low number, not a record low but lowest since the 60s.
It also hit a extremely high number, highest since the 20s.
That's an unusual statistically distinction to have. I don't think should lay the high unemployment solely at his feet, so I'd question why we solely credit him for a decrease that started in 2010.

The wars point is something that gets thrown about alot. Sometimes with varying logic on how war is defined. He certainly participated in wars, as much as the previous.
Obama inherited Afghanistan, so did Trump, so will Biden. Iraq depends on how you date it.

Nixon also started no wars, as he inherited Vietnam. "Started" isn't a good measurement for a warmongeriness of a president imo.

I read somewhere that Trump lost a lot of votes from the white higher educated voters which doesn't surprise me.

He made a complete balls of trying to manage the Covid pandemic with 400,000 lives lost under his watch, he was impeached twice and left office with millions more unemployed than when he entered.

He refused to acknowledge defeat and then caused the riots in Capitol Hill just to top off his legacy. What a guy.

The point is you can't credit a president with being responsible with low unemployment if you aren't going to credit them with the highs.
The reality is, there are extenuating factors in both.
Covid for the highs, obviously. For the lows, it's been trending down for a decade.

Did they aggravate them might be a better choice of words?
It definitely would. But I'm not sure how we're measure that objectively.
    Drone strikes? deaths? troops?

It hit everyone offguard, Germany is a very well run country, none of the gob****e-ism we have to suffer here, and they are in a right mess with the virus and the vaccine roll-out, Merkel is up in arms over it.

Covid caught a lot of people off, and in many cases there is nothing you could have done.
But many countries made really bad decisions, many leaders publically mishandles it, and just fcked up to be blunt. They should be open to criticism for those decisions.

Example, Boris going to a covid ward and making a point of shaking everybodies hand. Then announcing he did so. Then catching covid. Not the actions of a smart or competent leader.
