Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well done to the guys who've gotten offers. Is anyone from cork still waiting to hear about a medical?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 Kiki88

    I've mine today in cork

Congrats to those who heard!! And don't be thinking your doomed if you haven't, not everyone starts the same date, everyone has to go to the training centre in portlaoise at the start so they usually go in blocks, so there would be people starting two/three weeks later, and two/three weeks after that again I think. Well done and welcome to the board!! Have fun in Portlaoise, and don't worry, you'll do more than climb poles once you're on the job in a few weeks. Make the most of it and we'll done!!

Congrats to all that have been successful so far. Has anyone that's done the interview in Portlaoise had medicals yet?

I am also starting on 31st August. I rang HR to find out about accommodation but they said that they don't give out accommodation lists anymore! Does anyone know of good places to stay? I also asked HR if ESB subsidies the cost of accommodation but the guy didn't know - still waiting for him to get back to me - does anyone know? Thanks

Does anyone have any idea what the wages are like with the ESB? And how frequently they pay? I'm used to weekly so monthly will be a shock to the system haha

Brilliant thanks! Is the training in Portlaois paid or at our own expense? I don't mind either way, just wanna get my finances in order and make my last two weeks wages last.

I haven't got any word from the ESB since my interview, good or bad, so no medical or anything. Should I be worried and start considering my cao offer which I received this morning as it's very late and I will only have till the end of the week to accept my cao

I would say you are out of luck. It is a pity the ESB could not have let you know sooner.

Well that's a shame but bloody hell definitely should of even got a rejection email. Does anyone have a phone number I could ring maybe that would give me more info on this?

Anybody who completed interview in sligo, get word if they have been accepted yet? Completed my medical in dundalk last Thursday but haven't heard anything since.

  • Registered Users Posts: 60 ✭✭FaintBum

Hang in there it's a long process with loads of waiting.. If you did the medical you're more than likely in there unless you tested posited for drugs or have some sort of ailment?

  • Registered Users Posts: 254 ✭✭EletricMan

I would give it two weeks from the medical as a waiting time to hear if you get it. They seem to be starting it in blocks ie 31st of Aug, 7th of September so 14th should be the next start..
