Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Joint warmest day yeah, 25.5C in Phoenix Park. Warmest day since June 2009 in Donegal if you read DE's post at the top of the page!

    I think I heard that Phoenix Park actually reached 25.6c yesterday, which would make it the hotest day of the year. Will see later when ME updates data on site for Phoenix Park yesterday.

    Today is even worse than the last 2 days and with this shortwave set to stall over us for the weekend i'd say it's the worst spell of weather we've had all year :pac:

    Yes indeed, the air gets dried out as it passes over the Wicklow/Dublin Mountains. 100% clear blue skies here. 18.7c atm.

    25.6c confirmed by Met E for the Phoenix Park yesterday, making it the warmest day of the year.

    yesterday roches point was about 10 degrees cooler than dublin airport

    now if only that were the case in the middle of january....

    From -15.7c on Xmas Day to 25.6c yesterday in the Phoeno - thats a temperature range of 41.3 degrees.
    Thats the sort of temperature range you would associate with a continental climate and not our temperate oceanic climate. :)

    Had the same thought yesterday about Altnaharra in Scotland. 26c there yesterday. Last winter it was regularly -20c there.

    A week that promised so much has been very disappointing for people in the south of the country.
    Only got glimpses of sunshine which didn't last long before cloud and mist resumed it's ever present state.
    Today was warmer than yesterday with an 18.2C, yesterday just 17C.

    Kilkenny has been covered by a thick blanket of fog for about 30 of the last 48 hours! Sun has been threatening to break through, but no joy yet :mad:

    Can anyone tell me if tomorrow will be any better for the south east? or can we expect much the same? I'm most concerned with wind/raid/night temperatures to be honest! Camping tomorrow :D

    Lovely sunny day here again after the cloud broke up around 1pm, not as good as yesterday but a respectable max of 20.1C

    Tomorrow is looking wet everywhere I'm afraid, might have cleared away by night time though

    Waterford has been bleak, drizzly and dreary for the past few days.
