Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah I noticed it as well. Oh well back to mobile theme.

You probably know this, but adblocking (if you're on firefox) ads.boards.ie/*
    will sort the problem.

Mine will stay on until the issue is resolved.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,100 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

Not for me it doesn't. The ads don't appear but it still says it's waiting on it for ages.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,910 ✭✭✭✭RoundyMooney

Did you try the wild card "*", as in:

Click adblock, new filter, insert "http://ads.boards.ie/*"?

    That should cut it.

I'm using cloud skin btw, not that that should make any difference.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,509 ✭✭✭✭randylonghorn

    ok again now?

was doing it to me a while back, but I was afk for an hour (+/-) and it seems fine now ...

I have that but it isn't working. I've just realised that I've had adblock set to hide ad and not remove ad. I'm going to try it on remove ad.

    O_o

Ok ... I'm on IE atm, white skin, ads not blocked, no problems, flying along ...

... though I did see it for a few minutes earlier.

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,100 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

Setting it to remove ad sorted it. :)

Getting errors quite often at the moment (number of users online might explain the problem).

Yup, just got an error while trying to send a PM. I blame that ApeXaviour one for all the trouble.

Edit: Just got the dreaded all white page while trying to open the 'Is suicide immoral?' thread on AH.

Getting an error when trying to delete posts, but ads etc are fine

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,100 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

Some times a page spends ages trying to open. A refresh or two fixes it though.

I got a database error while trying to post just now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,061 ✭✭✭✭Terry

No errors, but I have noticed that some threads are taking a while to open and editing/ deleting some posts has taken a couple of minutes.
I blame Ruu. It was all fine until I read his post here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,007 ✭✭✭pretty-in-pink

Thats true, I had no probs till Ruus post, and I've a had a few now

That was the nightly backup script running an hour early I believe. Takes around 7 - 10 minutes to run these days.

So the 3 a.m. club (combined with the 4 a.m. club) has now become the 2 a.m. club?

Not sure Ruu or I can cope with all this change tbh! And if it changes again with winter time ... >.<

Also now I can't see anything past my last post even though I can see from viewing the forum that AC replied ... I presume its a problem my side?

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,100 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

Looks like it is. Try clearing your cache. That may solve it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

I cleared them in work and it still happened. Got one of the girls in my office to log in on my machine and all was fine. Logged out and I logged back in .... gone again!

Am at home now and getting the same problems :(

  • Moderators, Education Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 35,100 Mod ✭✭✭✭AlmightyCushion

Did you log in to your account while she was logged in to your computer? If not it may be something to do with your account. It looks like your subscription has run out, maybe that could have something to do with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Nope she logged out and cache etc was cleared again.

I'll have to check out my subscription as that was set to just renew?

Create another account and see if you are having the same problems. If not then it may indicate that there is something wrong with your account.

/6th gets banned for duplicate accounts....
    :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

I think I've found the problem. A change had been made which swapped my main user group from Subscriber to something else. Its something I'm discussing elsewhere so hopefully it will get sorted tomorrow. I changed back to Sub but its still arseways on the dropdowns.

    Cheers for the help.
