Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I’ve seen that car nearly everyday up until I heard he was summoned to coolock presumably to show the car to someone. I haven’t seen it since...

He hasn’t been at work since he gained some attention, was only talking about him the other day and wondered if he’d been picked up for it, although surely he’d have gotten bail at this stage. Car hasn’t been seen in a while and the last few days he was in work, there was no sign of the car 🀔

Possibly parked up too much heat, he’s been found by gards and folks who know what to look in a patrol car...

I was driving home yesterday saw both Audi Q7 and BMW attached to Cork City ASU with blues on. The BMW X5 lights are way better than Q7... you can really see the small light doesn’t work the best.

I have seen one of the think (as32) in DMR with the different light bar looks way better

The BMW have the UK type for that time.,.

    They keep changing though.

They are though a huge improvement to the old strobes which couldn't be seen in daylight.

    New speed guns

    https://www.joe.ie/news/gardai-unveil-new-speed-cameras-692056

The new guns have cameras recording the vehicle speeding too.

Ronanstown Garda are using a Mk 4 Traffic Corp Mondeo for just regular use in estates the past while. Dunno what it is about that car but its just odd looking :D maybe due to the fact its actually not been used for roads policing haha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,644 ✭✭✭✭punisher5112

Who honestly signs off on the crap they believe is suitable....

We honestly took a step back in 2014 to what we had in 2007 or even before this....

I know I know I keep saying but the lights on the unmarked are pure sh1te as are the sirens....

He’s been charged more times than my phone,

That jeep is a possible CAB seizure, similar to the unmarked white Tucson that’s around that area, uncommon to see an unmarked Tucson.

If it was it would be registered with a D Reg like the second hand BMW's picked up a few years ago.

They can't rereg it surely, so if it is an existing out of Dublin reg, that would explain it.

Well I know they generally do, but only if it is within the 'rulebook' so to speak. foreign says they did for sure, so that answers that then. There are so many people who would pay to have their reg numbers match their own county, so interesting that a structure exists to allow this to take place.

To ordinary folk no but official business such as Garda it would be possible.

It makes sense when you consider it might end up trying to pull someone. Are you going to stop for a reg that is anything other than D?

Random question i saw about 12 motobike cops escorting a huge lorry on the m50 a few weeks ago. They had all the lanes blocked up backing everyone up.
Any idea what was in the truck!?

That's an Octavia was it personal car or Garda based unit?

On the Volvo I've seen that before, couldn't for the life of me put it together in my own head.... Ha.

It's ICRR. Think the car itself is ex ECRR. The doc who operates it is a trainer in UCD.

Saw Mountain Rescue in Wicklow last weekend. Full blues and really bright headlamp strobes. Had an 11 WW plate, so not an official state vehicle. Would this be legit use of blues and twos?

Doesn't have to be a state vehicle to have blues/sirens.

Also doesn't matter if it's a ww reg?

I believe Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue are registered with PHECC as an ambulance service, so probably using blue lights under that section of blue light regs.

Here is a bit of a strange one. I was heading into the Swords Pavilions carpark a week or so ago and a rather large dash mounted light on a 3 series caught my eye as it was leaving the carpark. I looked back on my dashcam later to take an image, but does anybody want to hazard a guess as to why it's there?

What’s the reg? Put it into here, and if it returns a figure for motor tax it’s not a Garda/state owned car

Looks like 191D24643 and it is taxed privately. Initial thoughts were that it was a state car but they usually opt for 7 series ( Leo currently has a 7 series )
