Hope the Mod opens it again. I think he thought it was rambling from it's core function.

If it wasn't for current circumstances I'd be supping pints in Co Cavan right now after having been fed by Neven Maguire.
    Ah it will happen sometime.

Was going to chance it and a lad worried me about frosts. I bust it today and it’s ready for seeding.bit tacky but clean

Great drying these days around here. If the forecast was good you could chance a day or drying out. Till it up in between , it'd dry like mad.

After a feed there, you’d be too full for pints

Two hours with the pressure washer and honestly the arms are tired and me back is in a hoop.

I had to stop manual work through injury in an RTA, I do exercises to keep my back and neck strength up. But nothing replaces hard graft in terms of how it hardens you.

    You’d wonder.
Our local farm stores are only selling meal and fertiliser. Won’t sell you anything else and they have a full range of garden, household and electronics.

I don't see what the difference is, if you've to go in anyway to buy essentials. I bought a battery vacuum cleaner the last day I was in Lidl I think it was. Along with groceries. Would I tip into some electronics only place for it? Not a hope.

    Nope
Not just the stores I use, I know another locally that sent the same message out. Feed and fert only

I think it’s odd, fencing for example is part of farming which is deemed essential work.

They're right to do just feed, fencing isn't essential, it can wait.
The fewer people coming into the store the less chance of infections

New fencing is not essential in general. Fence maintenance/ repair generally is. Probably right to ban it at the same time though.

Agree with your last line alright, fencing can sometimes be essential and not all keep a supply at home.

Reckon a lot that's sold from farm stores is essential, inc fencing. Local builders supply have a good system here, no one allowed in store or yard save for employees. You ring and order, they ring you back with a collection time and leave your stuff outside the front. Payment over the phone, deliveries available.

Any more than one working in a business is a risk now, employers see this and are providing the minimum service. you can't depend on every one to take precautions.

Point being "if they're open anyway", may as well sell their range of products while taking precautions. Having been in 4 supermarkets, a hospital, a farm store, and outside a builders supply this week I can say this much, in order of which I'd prefer to be going to 1 builders supply, 2 hospital, 3 farm store, 4 supermarkets. Actually make supermarket number 400 not 4. We're more likely to catch it there than in the others, given half that are positive exhibit no symptoms.

Been there too, use gloves, wipe down vehicle surfaces including keys, wash hands first thing entering house. Queued 2 meters behind some div who paid the young girl inside the counter with coins for his daily rag, out the exit he went and shouted "2 meters!" at some lad coming at him. Myself and herself had a joint eyeroll at that.

The virus doesn't survive terribly long on materials, a few days, a bit of thought like ordering before time and leaving items a few days before use along with good hygiene and not touching your face will go a long way to seeing it not picked up from "stuff".

It's people that are the danger. Our family don't go near two particular shops. One has their child cycling inside it around customers, while they stand shoulder to shoulder gossiping. The other has the counter blocking the front doors, you order there, except they've a cover set up right outside, where people gather and wait ffs, if you don't catch something from them waiting for their stuff you'll get it from them queuing behind you.

Of course these are local observations, I've seen systems for local business that are good, and ones that are ****.

It's impossible to keep 2 meters from people in supermarkets. In the aisles traffic is going both ways, as well as shelves being restocked. In Lidl they have a screen set up at the till in a position where no one has ever stood, then you're stood in the cashiers lap filling the trolley.

I'm the designated victim in this house, meaning I'm the one who goes out to where other people are likely to be. If one of us is to get it, better I do, I've the stock set up for the medium term with forage, plus protein & energy licks so they'll get by. Herself is still expected to work from home plus we have the young lad to mind.

Saw first bumblebee of the year yesterday. When you haven’t seen one in a few months it looked just enormous and it was still quite sluggish.

Nice to see another sign of Soring out there.
