Easily the best album of the year so far.

I have listened to it maybe 10-12 times so far which is unheard of for me these dayz.. Best album Ive heard in a while. His raspy west coast vibe is perfect. Some of those basslines on the album are heavy as f$$k!!!

Great track. I've never listened to any of their stuff.

    Advise on best album?

  • I cannot stop playing this track...

They only have one album together, it's called PRhyme
But Premo is a legendary producer, one half of Gangstarr.
Royce is deadly rapper, been around for years, part of Slaughterhouse and has loads of solo albums.

I've seen some meme's lately of a kid with clothes matching his car......turns out it was all promo for this. I really really like this, particularly the second song.

Nipsey Hussle album is amazing. The one critique I would have, and it's only a minor thing, it's maybe 1 track too long for a single sitting. But I love that it's an album that you can sit down and listen to as well as pick out songs at random.

  • Has anyone actually dug into this album yet?
Thinking of scooping it up this weekend.

Yes, and would highly recommend. It's not a full on rap album, but still great start to finish.

I've a few albums earmarked to get - Mick Jenkins, PRhyme 2( streaming from today) and Phonte's new album.

Vince Staples also released a new song:

  • I was kind of more pulled to the fact Kendrick seems to leading the album.
Il defo pick it up so and give it a blast. Cheers

  • Anyone know what the best mixtape from Nipsey Hussles is?

  • New YG, I think this is off his upcoming album

Got this today on the vinyl and it is very good. More on the frenetic Chicago Footwork sound, but with a more Jazzy, pop, accessible high energy sound.
The rapping by DJ Taye here himself on this is actually very good, unlike most raps you would hear on tracks from the footwork genre. Has a sound similar to groups like Three 6 Mafia and the like, but the raps here are clever, sharp and still have a party vibe flow about them with the frenetic footwork sound.
This is a LP well worth your time, great fresh party sounds for the Saint Patrick's weekend and all that.

Agreed. Played it from start to finish about 5 times.
    Excellent production too.

K dot on the producing too apparently!

I get the impression, now this is my wild theory, that most of this was recorded last year.
Remember when DAMN was coming out, alot of people speculated that there would be a Disc 2 3 days later on Easter Sunday. But that never surfaced.
There's been rumours from inside the industry that the second album did indeed exist but was not released because it was supposed to be a surprise but it was ruined.
My guess is that alot of this Black Panther soundtrack is from that second album.

Loving the new Phonte record at the moment. Still one of the best lyricists around.

    It's still on my list.

Listening to the new Bishop Nehru album now and my god it's good. Wasn't expected this at all.

New PRhyme2 album is great as well. Royce is dope, but I still get a little bored by his voice after an extended period.

Black Milk Fever is brilliant, love the instrumentation on it.

The surprise from the lots of new stuff I've listened to so far is the new album Annie from Rejjie Snow. It's well well worth a listen.

Andy Cooper (from Ugly Duckling) has a new album called The Layered Effect. Real good as well, it's exactly what you'd expect but a little better from Andy C.

Evidence - Weather Or Not - Digging this also, Ev is consistently giving quality and better albums.

New Chuck Strangers record Consumer Park is very decent, some of the production is pure NY nineties...don't hear beats like that much these days..apologies if mentioned earlier

Forgot about these lads...what a track. That mix is decent as well.

Some amount of remixes of that track but this is probably my favourite, don't know the beat and took a while to find. Remember it on Tim Westwood's show when I was about 12

    apologies off thread...

    Must check out Chuck Strangers.

The Liks ruled. Tash is one of the greatest MC's on his day. Their first 3 albums are great.

There is another remix of that song that I've been trying to track down for ages. I can't remember who done it, but it was better than the original.

New J. Cole album coming in the next few days. Recorded in 2 weeks apparently.
I hope it's a bit more dynamic than his last album, I'd love to see someone else on production duties.

I think Drake's new album "Scorpion" is coming out soon too. Not a huge Drake fan but it'll sell loads regardless.

Kanye just tweeted, 2 new albums coming out in July. 7 track (solo?) album June 1st and a Cudi collab album called "Kids See Ghosts" June 7th. This June is gonna be good!

Just listened through KOD standouts on first listen are KOD, photograph and 1985.

Lil pump gets a roasting on 1985 (maybe just mumble rappers in general)

Is that the last track, I heard he goes in on someone on the last song.
