No because the DTT frequencies are different around the country, a quick DTT scan will get you these. Even quicker if you know what the channel number is from www.saorview.ie and you can then go straight to a manual scan.

    Thanks Tony...
does that list have the DTT channels also?

How exactly do I load the channel list?

I have it on a USB - Gone into Tools - Upgrade by USB
I can see the .abs file
What Upgrade mode do I select?
Should I delete my existing Channel List first?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Registered Users Posts: 313 ✭✭nodolan

It's not 'upgrade' it's MENU - INTERFACES - USB Device - UPDATE- Select the file from the list (USB_channel_list_xxxx) or else SAVE DATA (Green Button) to back it up (that's on the HD Combo anyway).

I know it worked on the 100E which is very similar but I'm not sure the firmware is out yet to enable reading of sky cards.

I'm thinking of upgrading to this receiver, but I have a few basic questions that I probably should know the answer to already.

What are the firmware updates you refer to (why are they needed?) and how often does it need to be updated?

Am I correct in saying that these updates are done via usb?

    thanks in advance..

I use a 750GB (maximum specified in the manual) External HDD from Western Digital
MyBook Essential. Must format it in FAT32 (NOT NTFS).
    Timeshift works well.
If you want to record anything overnight, set the recording start and finish time and switch the box off. If you don't then it will not switch after finish and will keep spinning and making humming noise.

I have a new Seagate 500GB drive and it comes formatter in NTFS. Is a reformat to FAT32 really necessary? Did you try an NTFS drive? What happened?

    Thanks....
